Classic Creamy Coleslaw

This is our go-to recipe for creamy coleslaw. Freshly shredded green and red cabbage and carrots are tossed with a tangy, creamy dressing made up of mayonnaise, sour cream and cider vinegar. We also use dry mustard to add a subtle kick and celery salt and honey for a touch of sweetness. It’s perfect for your next cookout!

Ingredients

  1. 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  2. 1/3 cup sour cream
  3. 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  4. 1 tablespoon honey
  5. 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  6. 1 teaspoon celery salt
  7. 7 cups shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 small head)
  8. 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  9. 1 cup shredded carrots
  10. Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, honey, mustard powder and celery salt in a large bowl until combined. Add both cabbages and the carrots; toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cover the slaw and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Toss again and season with salt and pepper.
