These chocolate chip mini muffins are delicious. After much trial and error with other muffin recipes, I finally came up with this recipe. My children adore them!
Prep Time: | 15 mins |
Cook Time: | 10 mins |
Total Time: | 25 mins |
Servings: | 24 |
Yield: | 4 dozen mini muffins |
Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly spray 48 miniature muffin cups.
- Mix flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
- Lightly beat egg in a separate bowl; stir in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix egg mixture into flour mixture until incorporated. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
- Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each 3/4 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven until tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 10 minutes. Cool briefly in the tin before transferring muffins to a wire rack to cool completely.
- You can use regular chocolate chips, but they have a tendency to drop to the bottom of the cups so you will need to decrease the amount of milk.

I suggest using mini morsels cause I used normal morsels and they are way to chocolatey for the little ones. Perfect for in the morning on long car rides. Not a lot of sugar and can have a hole dozen
When is says it makes 48 mini muffins it’s not kidding, used my scoop so they were all exact and it made EXACTLY 48 muffins, no extra batter. Great recipe for a tasty bite size snack.
Perfect recipe! I used coconut milk instead of regular milk, and I had the regular size chocolate chips so I cut them in half (or less) to make them smaller. I will definitely make this my default recipe.
I made this for my mom she’s going to love ❤ it
I love this recipe for school day mornings with the kids. It’s always a hit!
I would just like to say that if you are cooking them in cupcake cups, cook them for 20 min instead
My 10 year old son made it so he would have his favorite snack!
I read the reviews and added 1tbsp cocoa powder, extra tsp of vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and they’re so good!
Easy recipe! I added 1/4 cocoa powder to the flour mixture and made chocolate chocolate chip muffins. So good!
they were so yummy!!
YASS
I have made this multiple times with the recipe as written. I decided to switch out the oil for butter and used a full stick instead of the 1/3 cup. This will be the only way I make them from now on, so much more moist using this swap.
These are edible, but not very good. Tastes more like a scone and less like a muffin. My son ate two and didn’t want anymore. I followed the recipe exactly.
Great muffins! I added more chocolate chips and substituted mint extract for the vanilla.
These were just ok. They are too bland IMO; I would definitely use the add-ons recommended by other reviewers or just find a new recipe next time.
These muffins were disgusting!! there were not enough chocolate chips, and they all sunk to the bottom. They were very bland. More flavor, please!
Very easy to make. The kids love them.
its good
These were good. I did sprinkle some powdered sugar on top because we like it. Thank you for the recipe.
Not my favorite. Not bad needs more flavor. They kind of taste like a pancake muffin
I made it. it is wonderful. Just want to make sure if the brown sugar mentioned is dark brown or Damrara (light brown) sugar
