Chocolate Caramel Hazelnut Ice Coffee

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups hot espresso
  2. 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water heated until sugar dissolves)
  3. 1/4 cup melted bittersweet chocolate
  4. 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  5. 1/4 cup hazelnut-flavored liqueur (recommended: Frangelico)
  6. Ice cubes
  7. Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Stir together the espresso, simple syrup, melted chocolate, caramel syrup and hazelnut liqueur in a heat-proof pitcher. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  2. Fill tall glasses with ice and fill 3/4 of the glass with coffee mixture and top off with whipped cream.

Followed the recipe perfectly to make the caramel-chocolate, but both times the caramel just seized up and wasted my time and ingredients.

I didn’t have hazelnut liquer and was too lazy to make a simple syrup so I used my French Vanilla syrup instead. It was delicious! Great with homemade whipped cream!!!
