Cheeseburger Bowls

One of Ree’s family’s favorite meals is a burger and fries, but this new mashup takes them to the next level. Cheesy patties, fries and toppings served in bowls are not only delicious, but thrifty too.
Level: Easy
Total: 45 min
Active: 25 min
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. One 28-ounce bag oven fries
  2. 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  3. 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  4. 4 pre-made burger patties
  5. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  6. 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
  7. 4 slices Cheddar
  8. 1 cup shredded lettuce
  9. 1 tomato, diced
  10. 1/2 cup ketchup
  11. 1/2 cup mustard
  12. 1 cup pickles
  13. 1/2 cup jarred jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Toss the fries with the melted butter and rosemary on a baking sheet, then spread out on the baking sheet. Bake according to the package instructions (usually 25 to 28 minutes at 425 degrees F).
  2. Meanwhile, preheat a grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Drizzle the patties with the olive oil, then sprinkle with the steak seasoning and cook to your desired doneness, about 6 minutes per side for medium. Add a cheese slice to each in the final couple minutes of cooking and allow to melt.
  4. Serve the fries in bowls, topped with the patties. Garnish with the lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, pickles and jalapeños.

My husband & I both loved this! The rosemary added a great flavor to the fries. Good way to have a cheeseburger and fries without having even more carbs with the bun.

wondering, can you sub the patties for ground meat instead ??? I don;t see why it wouldn’t work ??

I liked this mash up, a deconstructed cheeseburger. Made it for my husband’s lunch, and he liked it! Yes, I know the picture doesn’t match, luckily I saw that episode though.

You are right picture doesn’t represent the one on tv. When I made this the recipe I did it the way she did the recipe on tv. The next time I put my spin and added extra ingredients. Great idea and versatile recipe.

The photo in this recipe is NOT of this recipe. The recipe contains no croutons, red onions or bacon.
