sans ricotta cheese baked ziti. The family enjoyed the meal I made for them one night using what I had on hand.

Ingredients

  1. 1 (16 ounce) package dry ziti pasta
  2. 1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
  3. 1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  4. 1 (16 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce
  5. 1 (8 ounce) package shredded Italian cheese blend

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil. Stir in the ziti, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through but is still slightly firm, about 12 minutes. Drain well.
  3. While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and stir in the sausage. Cook and stir until the sausage is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Stir in the pasta, spaghetti sauce, and Alfredo sauce. Transfer the mixture into a large baking dish, and top with the Italian cheese blend.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.

Making this as directed for the 4th time tonight – the entire family goes back for seconds so I double the recipe so we can enjoy left overs for lunch too. I use the Publix brand hot Italian sausage, prego Italian sausage and garlic meat sauce and Bertolli 4 cheese alfredo sauce. I top with sargentos 6 cheese Italian blend. I also used Rigatoni noodles the first time we made it because I couldn’t find ziti so we have stuck with rigatoni noodles. It’s so tasty and creamy most importantly EASY! We have it with garlic butter topped yeast rolls and a Caesar salad kit! Thank you for this recipe – it is in my permanent rotation twice a month!

Very good recipe! I subbed sweet Italian sausage. The day I made it was 90* and I didn’t want to warm up the house, so I finished on grill uncovered for 25 minutes at 350*. I used extra cheese and a pellet grill so that’s why it took longer than recipe. Very good subtle smoky flavor! Probably will make it the same way again.

We didn’t have the correct cheese but added chunks of mozzarella through the dish and topped with a little more and grated cheese. Also used ground beef as didn’t have the sausage. It was delicious and we will make again. I did use ziti pasta and made another with brown rice pasta elbows and it was also good.

I loved it! I was skeptical at first with combining Alfredo and marinara sauce together, but it turned out great. I did add pepper, garlic and onion powder, basil, oregano, fennel and onions. I only had Italian and sage sausage. I also had only Parmesan, mozzarella, and pepper jack cheese. Used all 3. This meal was easy to prepare, filling, and delicious. Thanks!

Used ground venison instead of sausage and still great. I’ve made this a couple times using ragu alfredo and pasta sauce and it’s turned out well each time, also super easy to make. I’ll definitely make it again

Made exactly as written. So good! From kitchen to table in 30 minutes. I boiled noodles and cooked sausage at the same time. Even threw in a few garlic toasts in the oven at the same time.
