Total: 30 min
Active: 15 min
Yield: 2 to 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound frozen store-bought pizza dough, thawed and risen
  2. 1/4 cup olive oil
  3. 1/2 cup store-bought pizza sauce
  4. 1/2 cup pepperoni
  5. 4 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  6. 1/4 cup torn fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 500 degrees F.
  2. Meanwhile, roll or stretch the dough into a 14-inch circle. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Drizzle two thirds of the olive oil into the skillet, then carefully transfer the dough to the skillet, pressing the dough up the edges. Spread the sauce over the dough, making sure to get all the way to the edges. Shingle the pepperoni over the sauce and top with the mozzarella pearls. Brush the exposed dough with the remaining olive oil. Bake on the bottom rack until golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes.
  3. Transfer to a cutting board, top with torn basil, cut into slices and serve.

DELICIOUS! I made this pizza immediately after I watched Ree pull hers out of her oven as I had everything already on hand. Followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the pepperoni bcz my husband doesn’t like it. I used my cast iron pan and preheated it in the oven as Ree did. If you are hesitant about how hot the pan gets use long oven mitts and you will be fine. The hot cast iron pan is what makes this recipe work. It was FAST & EASY but most importantly soooo good! If you like a crispy pizza crust this is for you! This will be in our dinner rotation for sure! The recipe is just a base, so many ways to customize toppings etc. Give this a try it’s a winner! Thank you Ree!

5 stars for the cooking method. 12 minutes is all I need for cook time.  I use the Fleischmann instant pizza yeast package and make my own dough. It give you exactly what you need and can be made while over preheats.  I only put 3 tablespoons oil in the pan. Crust is crispy and can be picked up to eat. Fun tip: put Everything Bagel seasoning on the crust edge.

Use the King Arthur Flour Neopolitan dough recipe. Just know It won’t stretch to the edge of the pan. You’ll thank me later.
