Followed recipe exactly as described. It was good. Maybe a good side to a poultry dish.
I love roasted cabbage, so I thought I’d try this version. First of all, 6 slices do not fit into a large casserole dish. I needed to use two. My slices were exactly 1-inch thick. Covering the dish with foil prevented the cabbage from getting any browning or color. After 45 minutes, it still wasn’t cooked (and looking very pale), so I removed the foil and baked another 10 minutes. It was still a bit al dente, but at least it now had some roasted edges. I really like the garlic flavor, but overall, I still prefer roasting instead of baking in a covered dish.
Great recipe!! Hubby and I loved it, which is saying something for him because he’s not a great lover of cooked veggies. He actually asked when I was making it again. Thanks!!!
I thought it was delicious. I added shredded cheese, since I saw so many similar recipes that added it. The cabbage steak was a really big serving though. Next time , I will try a smaller portion, so as not to waste any. The cheese was pretty but inconsequential. I will make this again.
The only change I made was to substitute Italian seasoning for the garlic powder–I’m very allergic to garlic. I love this recipe and will gladly make it again.
So very simple with good flavors making the cabbage the “star”. Mine were done at 45 minutes.
I loved this recipe since I seen it a 2 years ago. I do cook it on 375 for 45 minutes and check it even so often because it doesn’t cut alway at 1 inch. My husband loves them too and he is Mr Picky Eater. Yes, this is in my repertoire of recipes. P.S. Affordable too.
I used a bit more garlic. Easy excellent recipe
First of all, this recipe is 5 star as written. But I also like to change up the flavors occasionally and substitute sesame oil for the olive oil, gochugaru (Korean kimchi pepper) for the black pepper and drizzle with just a bit of rice vinegar to serve as a side to Asian inspired dishes. Both versions a favorite in our household!
I adjusted because I didnt have minced garlic so I used garlic powder, I increased the time to 1 hour, and I increased the temp to 375. I followed the directions exactly other than those three things. Came out yummy.
Easy and delicious. I didn’t change a thing.
I am a 70-year-old man who does not consider him a cook, but I like to try new things. This was my first attempt with this recipe. I went overboard with the pepper and garlic, but it was still good. I added some grated Colby/cheddar cheese at the end of cooking. Next time I think I will try garlic powder instead of minced garlic.
Loved the idea but I added garlic powder, tyme, rosemary, dried chives, basil,a secret no salt recipe from my husband ( Chef Ed Strain Jr. ) I did this 5yrs ago to present
I never liked cabbage much thought give it a try tamest it out for my daughter and loved it
I use butter instead of olive oil, and actually season like a real steak with grillmates montreal steak seasoning, garlic powder, and a bit of Worcestershire sauce! Takes about 1:30-2 hours at 375! Yum!
Neither my husband or myself liked this recipe. I will not make this again.
Everybody Loved it. The cabbage had a sweet taste.
I wasn’t happy with the results of this dish. The flavor was unappealing, bland and temperature off too. I threw it out. A waste of time and ingredients, I definitely will not make this again.
This was great I love the flavor looks as good as it tastes after all we eat with our eyes first
I love how easy this is! …and the garlic is an added bonus!
I Lovef this. Followed the recipe exactly except I used plan butter and lots more sliced garlic. While the cabbage was in the oven I made smoked lentils to serve with it. I can’t wait to make this again.
