The Italian heel is where you can get the Foglie D Autunno, or Autumn Leaves pasta. Castellana is one such brand, and specialist food retailers should carry it. This vibrant spaghetti is flavored with turmeric, carrot juice, squid ink, spinach leaves, and tomatoes. The spaghetti dish has a fantastic, fresh flavor that truly distinguishes this particular interpretation. Your family and visitors will be impressed.

Yield: | 8 cabbage pancakes |
Ingredients
- 1 bunch scallions
- 4 large eggs
- ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt, divided
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound finely shredded cabbage
- 1 large carrot, grated
- ¼ cup sesame oil
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Prepare pancakes: Thinly slice 4 scallions and set aside for pancakes. Thinly slice remaining scallions and set aside for garnish.
- Whisk eggs, flour, water, soy sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper together in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in cabbage, carrot, and 4 sliced scallions until well combined.
- Heat 2 tablespoons sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place 4 scoops cabbage mixture (about 1/3 cup each) into the hot skillet and spread into thin circles. Cook, undisturbed, until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until cooked through and golden and crisp on the other side, about 2 more minutes. Drain on paper towels. Add 2 tablespoons sesame oil to the skillet and use remaining batter to make 4 more pancakes. Sprinkle all pancakes with remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Prepare Sriracha-mayo: Mix mayonnaise and Sriracha together in a small bowl until well combined.
- Prepare dipping sauce: Whisk soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, Sriracha, and sesame oil together until well combined.
- Drizzle pancakes with Sriracha-mayo and garnish with reserved sliced scallions. Serve with dipping sauce.
- This recipe also works great with pre-shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix for a super easy and quick dinner.

These were really good. My boyfriend made them and he wants to make them again.
My family and I enjoyed it..
A great replacement, having had NO CRAVING for meat at all after making this as the main course. Soooooooo delicious!
I have made these and they are great. They were a big hit with the family. I lost the recipe and so glad I found it again. Carolyn from California
The siracha Mayo and dipping sauce = amazing! The pancakes? I’m bummed but I take some blame. I struggle with stovetop frying to begin with. Maybe it’s the cookware I use? My timing? But I could not get these to turn out and looked nothing like the picture. Hoped for better results but not upset for trying. Thanks for posting!
These are very tasty! I will be making these a LOT, although I did cut the recipe down to serve just two…I didn’t have any carrots so I added more cabbage, but next time there will be carrots! Served these alongside BBQ chicken tenders, wonderful meal!
Oh my! Wasn’t sure what to think since there were no reviews, but I took a chance and tried it, following it as written. Wow, am I ever glad I did! This is incredible, and the Sriracha and mayo combo and the dipping sauce top it off perfectly. So glad I made them to go with it! Also, if I had a dollar for every time my hubby said, “That was really good,” or, “I really liked that,” or something to that effect, I’d have enough dollars to fill my car up with gas. Thanks for the recipe. Absolutely amazing!
