Buttery Strawberry Shmear

On bagels, toast, crackers, as a dip, or just by the spoonful, this shmear is fantastic! Adapt the amount of sweetener to the sweetness of your strawberries.

Ingredients

  1. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  2. 5 large fresh strawberries, or as needed
  3. 2 ounces Neufchatel cheese, softened
  4. 1 ½ tablespoons low-calorie natural sweetener (such as Swerve®)

Instructions

  1. Place strawberries in a blender and blend until pureed. Measure out 3 tablespoons strawberry puree and set aside. Save the rest, if any, for another use.
  2. Combine butter, Neufchatel cheese, and sweetener in a blender and blend until smooth. Add strawberry puree and blend until fully incorporated.
  3. A food processor can be used in place of blender.
