Bourbon Bacon Pulled Pork

Simple slow cooker pulled pork with bacon and whiskey. Buns can be served with or without. The greatest way to enjoy buns is toasted. Add BBQ sauce to the pulled pork after it has been cooked.

I made this for a wedding reception dinner (135). It was great everyone loved it. Only change I made was to cut the sugar in half. Perfect!

This pulled pork was so tender and had the best flavor, a crowd pleasure for certain!

This was really good. I didn’t add the bacon, and it really doesn’t need it (nor do I need the extra cholesterol!). Will definitely make this again.

Easy to make and tasted fantastic

Decided to use a little less brown sugar and all my friends loved it!

Loved this recipe. Super easy and soooo tender. I did trim the layer of fat off of the roast, because the roast is marbled, and no need for all that extra fat. It turned out to be a pound of fat! As others suggested, I cut the amount of brown sugar in half. And I didn’t have apple cider vinegar (shocking, right?) so I used rice vinegar and could not taste it. I cooked a 3 lb roast in the crockpot for 8 hours, and it was perfect! With or without sauce, delicious.

Even with little adjustments I had to make due to ingredient availability, this recipe was easy and delicious. Don’t skip the bacon, it really separates this pork from others. So very tasty with or without the barbeque sauce.

substituted fresh garlic and onions for the powder… added cumin… slow simmered 12hours in Bourbon before adding BBQ sauce to finish… sereved on Kings Hawaiian roll and homemade cole slaw and dressing… pickles optional…

I did make this recipe, with two pork loins, the only thing that I discluded was the salt and bourbon. I found that it was very Bland. A little bit of a disappointment. In the end I had to doctor it up so that it had flavour. I just don’t think I would make this again.

This far exceeded expectations in ease and flavor. The pork just fell apart on me when I went to turn it in the crockpot, and I let it cook another couple of hours shredded in the juice. It was so flavorful (a little on the sweet side) I just ate it straight without bothering with the bacon or bbq sauce. I will probably add a bbq sauce when I do the left overs as a sandwich.

Loved this! I made in instapot but used all same ingredients. Instead of BBQ sauce, I served on buns with Pepper Bacon Jam that I had. Delicious!!!

Made exactly as written but forgot the bacon in the end (hah!) but it was super yummy! Didn’t need bacon. It was really sweet. Topped with coleslaw was awesome! Whole family loved.

I have made this many times for just me and my hubby and a friend with an ill husband… all to rave reviews. I do use 2 tsp Liquid Smoke as do some of the other reviewers. It adds a great depth of flavor. It is now my “go-to” recipe for pulled pork.

Just didn’t like the bourbon taste. Thought it was just okay

Way too much sugar

Tasted really good but needs more bacon.

Pork practically falls apart! Very tasty, I made it with Jack Daniel’s.

I used Swerve Sugar Free Sweetener was the only change. I have never commented on a recipe but this one was so good I had to. I can’t wait to make it again!

It was amazing and everyone loved it. Such great flavor. I did follow the recipe and only added some cut up green apple !
