Blueberry Rosemary Bramble

Ingredients

  1. 2 ounces gin
  2. 1 ounce lime juice
  3. 1 ounce Rosemary Simple Syrup, recipe follows
  4. 6 blueberries, plus more for garnish
  5. Rosemary sprig, for garnish
  6. 1 cup granulated sugar
  7. 2 sprigs rosemary

Instructions

  1. Add the gin, lime juice, Rosemary Simple Syrup and blueberries to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Cover and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  2. Fill an 8- to 12-ounce glass with ice and strain the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a few blueberries.
  3. Add the sugar, rosemary sprigs and 1 cup water to a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a low simmer, stirring regularly, until the sugar has completely dissolved and the rosemary is fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and cool completely. Once cooled, remove and discard the rosemary sprigs.

I did substitute vodka for gin; (not a fan of gin!) but with that? An excellent drink! Very refreshing!

This recipe is a keeper. It’s also very visually appetizing. The recipe doesn’t call for muddling the blueberries but I did which adds to the taste and color. I’m Mr picky about food and cocktails in terms of them being delicious and something I would make over and over. This cocktail is one of those.
