On a whole wheat bread, this fish burger is made with blackened tilapia or cod fillets, red cabbage, avocado, and hot Greek yogurt.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 1
Yield: 1 burger

Ingredients

  1. 1 (6 ounce) tilapia fillet
  2. 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  3. 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt
  4. 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  5. 1 whole wheat hamburger bun
  6. 1 leaf red cabbage
  7. 3 slices avocado

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot, about 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, rub tilapia with Cajun seasoning and set aside.
  3. Combine Greek yogurt and Sriracha in a bowl; mix well. Place mixture onto one side of the bun; add red cabbage and avocado.
  4. Cook fish in the hot skillet or griddle until almost black, but not burned, about 2 minutes per side; it will should be crunchy on the outside but flaky on the inside. Place fish on the prepared bun.
  5. You can use cod instead of tilapia.
  6. I found sometimes making the avocado into a guacamole-type paste is easier when making this recipe.
