Ingredients

  1. 1 center-cut slice of watermelon, 1 to 2 inches thick
  2. ½ cup chocolate chips
  3. 2 tablespoons half-and-half
  4. 1 tablespoon multicolored candy sprinkles, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Cut the round watermelon slice into 8 wedges and keep them together. Place on a serving dish.
  2. Combine chocolate chips and half-and-half in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Heat in a microwave oven for 25 seconds, then remove and stir until chocolate chips are fully melted into the cream. Continue heating in the microwave in 5- to 10-second intervals if necessary.
  3. Spoon melted chocolate evenly over the watermelon, stopping before the rind. Top with a generous portion of sprinkles.

This is a must try dessert for both adults and children! What a great way to give kids a sweet treat, but cut the sugar content, as well as introducing fresh food! Such a cute and economical way to use a subpar watermelon too. I did not have half-n-half so I used heavy cream. It worked great.
