Yield: 8 cocktails

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup fresh apple cider
  2. 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  3. 1/2 cup apple brandy or Calvados
  4. 1 bottle Prosecco or Cava, chilled
  5. 1 crisp apple, such as McIntosh, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the cider, pomegranate juice, and apple brandy in a glass measuring cup or pitcher until combined. Chill until ready to serve.
  2. To make a Bubbletini, pour about 1/4 cup of the cider mixture into a chilled martini glass. Top with ice-cold Prosecco. To garnish, either very thinly slice the apple crosswise on a mandoline slicer and float the wheel in the cocktail, or cut thin wedges from the apple and garnish the rim.
  3. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

I was pretty excited about trying this cocktail but it was just ok. Maybe I’m not a fan of apple brandy or maybe I put too much of the mix in & not enough Prosecco  but it just tasted ok to me.

Made this for a Halloween party and everyone loved it! I made a pitcher of the fruit juice & apple brandy mixture and topped off each glass with prosecco, it went a long way! No need to buy the expensive brand of apple brandy since you’re mixing it with fruit juice. A great fall cocktail, I will be making this again at thanksgiving!

I’ve made it exactly as the recipe dictates, and as another reviewer pointed out, it is expensive! The second time I substituted name brand Apple Brandy with a different apple flavored brandy, apple juice for apple cider, and used a $6 champagne. Tasted just as good and a fraction of the cost!

I bascially recreated every single recipe on this episode. This was a hit with some of the folks at my NYE party but overall was just ‘good’.

This is not an inexpensive drink to make- just the name brand apple brandy was over $30! So by the time I got the cider and pom juice and prosecco and apples- I was approaching $70 🙁 Keep in mind- this was NYE so cost wasn’t a big deal- but needed more of a wow factor.
