Bev’s Seasoned Salt

These burgers made with quinoa and black beans are tasty and vegetarian. Your buddies who eat meat will be impressed. The whole wheat sandwich with garlic-lemon mayonnaise, fresh spinach leaves, sliced tomato, and caramelized onions is my preferred way to serve them.

A good variety of spices, but I thought the flavor was lacking, so I would double everything except the salt next time. As is, it just tastes like mostly plain salt. I would also add the ingredients that are listed in the description part of the actual recipe (1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon dried minced parsley), not just have them as an optional addition.

“Bev’s Seasoned Salt” reminds me of soup bouillon: It tastes mostly like salt with strong herbal undertones. I made mine with Celtic sea salt and the optional garlic, onion powder, and parsley (mentioned in the recipe description). I have found this tastes good as a “rescue remedy” for a less than flavorful homemade chicken or turkey broth.

This is excellent, I used sea salt. You can reduce the amount of salt easily enough.

I realize this is seasoned “SALT” but the salt in this recipe completely overwhelmed the other spices. In my opinion the salt should be cut in half and continue with the rest of the ingredients as stated. With the change, I think this could easily be a 4 star recipe.
