The baked salmon fillets in this balsamic salmon recipe are covered with a glaze of balsamic vinegar, garlic, honey, white wine, and Dijon mustard.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  1. aluminum foil
  2. nonstick cooking spray
  3. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  4. ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
  5. 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  6. 1 tablespoon honey
  7. 1 tablespoon white wine
  8. salt and pepper to taste
  9. 6 (5 ounce) salmon fillets
  10. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, then spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Coat a small saucepan with nonstick cooking spray; place over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic in the hot pan until soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in balsamic vinegar, mustard, honey, white wine, salt, and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Arrange salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush fillets with balsamic glaze; sprinkle with oregano.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until flesh flakes easily with a fork, 10 to 14 minutes. Brush fillets with remaining glaze; season with salt and pepper. Use a spatula to transfer fillets to a serving platter, leaving the skin behind on the foil.

Good and quick salmon preparation. It’s savory, very subtly sweet, and herbal. The addition of the fresh oregano makes the dish. I baked it for about 13 min and 20 seconds, which was perfect. I used Brad’s Organic balsamic vinegar and Grey Poupon mustard, and a white wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy.

This is great! And so easy. My wife loved it.

Big personal favorite; I make variations on this regularly. I make it with rice cooked in chicken stock and oven roasted asparagus, broccoli or green beans. I’m single so I reduce the proportions to fit 1 or 2 people.

I used 2 tbsp of honey mustard instead of the Dijon mustard and the honey. I spread all of the glaze on prior to cooking. I didn’t use oregano as I didn’t have any. My daughter who doesn’t like fish said it was good. I’d make it again.

This was fantastic….I only added ‘fresh Basil and Oregano’ at the last basting… This definitely a must ‘do again’.

We loved the glaze with the mixture of balsamic vinegar & mustard w/honey to take the bite away but still has a nice tartness.

So good. New family favorite !! Sauce is TO DIE FOR and timing leaves salmon soft moist and flaky!! Highly recommend if your a salmon fan!! Oregano not necessary, but add some extra sauce! It was awesome!

Easy go to recipe for salmon! Have made twice, the first time exactly as written. The second time I took another reviewers advice & added 1tsp ginger, 1 tsp red pepper flakes. Gave an added depth to flavor. Recipe is excellent on it’s own but also can be tweaked to ones personal taste. Thanks for sharing.

This was an excellent recipe! I really liked the balsamic marinade with the honey, garlic, and wine accent.

I really liked it, and so did the family. The only issue I had was I put it on tin foil. The skin didn’t pull off, and I had to cook a little longer than expected to make it flaky.

Although moist and tender, I didn’t care for this dish. I doubt I will make it again.

Next time I would double the glaze to put on the top of the salmon after it was cooked. Excellent!

Very tasty, better with Basil instead of oregano. Baked with tray on bottom rung of oven for first 15 min. to crisp skin a bit then brushed more glaze on and moved up to top rung for another 10 min to broil top of fillet

Very nice treatment for Salmon. I recommend going shorter on the cooking time and checking at 11 minutes. Yummy!

The sauce is awesome! My wife and I were ladeling it out of the pan to get as much as we could. I’ve made this a few times now and did not have white wine, but it still turned out great.

I used walleye instead of salmon but everything else was the same. We really liked it.

It was easy enough to put together and make but I thought the vinegar taste was a bit overpowering for the salmon. Maybe decrease the vinegar and increase the honey. I just didn’t care for it much. Will not make again.
