This is the traditional pancetta carbonara I ate growing up. Serve it hot and garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and Italian parsley.

Excellent flavor and super-easy to make, this is definitely a recipe i will use over and over. I used a very spicy barbecue sauce to give it a zingy taste instead of being all sweet. I also put in minced onion as opposed to fresh- I don’t like the texture of regular onions in a dish like this and the minced is a perfect solution, flavored yet tiny and not obvious (plus no chopping involved!). I did have to cook it up to the full 60 minutes, which is odd because my oven always runs a little hotter than normal. I would suggest checking it twice, once at 45 and again at 50. You should have a pretty good idea how done it is by then. I have also tried this with a spatchcoocked chicken, which cooks faster and gives my family the dark meat they prefer, along with breasts. Either way, I think there are few people who won’t love this recipe.
Tasteless, watery, and dry
I will definitely make again. I used 5 large chicken breasts, 45 mins. & took foil off for 15 mins, but next time I will cut back on time. Also sauce was a little thin so I will use some corn starch to thicken as I saw in a review. Excellent recipe.
My family liked it. I might try to marinate it over night to see if you can the flavor all the way through the chicken. I really did love the sauce and you end up with a lot extra sauce. Super easy to make and just loved it. ???
Thank you so much for the great and easy recipe. The kids ate nearly all of the chicken! I used boneless skinless chicken breasts that were pretty thick. I omitted the onion because, kids…. I baked for 20 minutes and then flipped my chicken breasts, removed the foil, and added in my pan of au gratin potatoes. After 25 more minutes, I checked the temp and the chicken was done. So easy and truly delicious. I cannot believe the kids ate it all and asked me to make more!
I used 3 chicken breasts and reduced the sauce about 1/4 cup. Tasted really good, kids loved it, but it seems that a lot of the sauce ended up at the bottom of the pan rather than on the chicken. So instead of just pouring and leaving it, maybe it would be better to use a brush and spread it a little before it goes in the oven.
Easy and delicious
Absolutely fantastic and so easy to make
Great recipe! As others suggested, I baked for 30 min covered, than 15 min uncovered to thicken the sauce, for a total cooking time of 45 min. The second time I made this I used chicken tenders instead of breasts, reduced the heat to 375F, cooked for 15 min covered, and 15 min uncovered (total cooking time of 30 min).
Amazing flavor
This was the moistest BBQ Chicken I’ve ever had even my peeky mama liked it and that says alot
Taste was perfect and super easy to make. The chicken was moist and full of flavor.
Really good and super easy – My super picky husband and stepson even liked it! The sauce cane out really thin so the next tine we make it, I will add some cornstarch.
I added about half the honey. We loved it!
Followed the recipe perfectly. LOVED this so much that we made it for company who also loved it. The chicken comes out very tender and is very flavorful. Will make again.
Chicken was still juicy and that sauce is delicious.
So easy & delicious,
no changes
I seasoned my chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. I used 6 chicken breast halves. I didn’t use ketchup and instead used BBQ sauce. Turned out to be yummy.
This was the best barbecue chicken I’ve ever had, or made. However, I didn’t add honey, although my barbecue sauce did have it in there. I did add a touch of Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of water, a pinch of barbecue spice and garlic powder, and lastly, I used baby pearl onions (quartered). I added all of the above to the sauce mixture prior to pouring it over the chicken. I butterflied the breasts to expedite the cooking time and was enjoying this delectable dish within the half hour. Thank you for sharing, awesome recipe!!
Easy, quick and tasty! I think the trick might be using a BBQ sauce that isn’t too sweet. I used a Sriracha Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce. There was plenty of sauce and it tasted great on the roasted broccoli and mashed (with butter and salt only) sweet potatoes I made with it
