Baked Haddock

  4.6 – 803 reviews  • Haddock

Curry fans or those who wish to sample curry in small doses will adore this dish. Without bothering to simmer the marinade into a sauce, you may simply grill the chicken. Both approaches are delicious! Saffron rice was the side dish I chose. Rice topped with the sauce is also excellent!

Followed the recipe exactly , did add some lemon after baking and my husband gave it 5 stars ! Very crispy and flaky

This was wonderful. Fast and easy. I used stone dish lined with foil. And Panko bread crumbs. 15 mins exactly. Perfect. Sprinkled lemon juice prior to eating. Hot out of the oven.

This was very good. The only change I made was to season the fish with SPG, and lemon pepper and I used Panko bread crumbs. Both sides had crunch.

Terrible recipe! Fish looked pale and mushy even after 20 mins. at 500F. Don’t make this!

The fish was good but I added 2 tbl spoons of lemon pepper gives it loads of flavor

I had table cream in my fridge to use up so it did. I didn’t measure spices but I pit in thyme and dill/garlic with bread crumbs. I sprinkled a little onion powder and Chilli powder on top before butter. Mmmmm served with fresh beets and mashed potatoes, pan fried. So yummy

Very good.

Very simple, very easy! Delicious! As others suggested, add additional spices such as onion- or garlic powder. I baked at 450 degrees.

Followed recipe exactly, and it’s delicious. Hubby keeps saying “mmm mmm mmm!”

I followed the directions and seasoned it to taste both the Haddock and the Panko breadcrumbs to add more flavor. Sprinkled Paprika on top. I omitted the Parmesan cheese only because I didn’t have any on hand. Perfect Lunch!

Easy to make and tastes delicious. But the next time I make it I’ll be adding cayenne and fresh ground black pepper to the breadcrumb mix

This is absolutely the BEST recipe for Haddock, Pollack, Cod. Love that it is not too much butter or oil. The milk dipping is perfect to make the breadcrumbs adhere, and I used Oat milk and Almond milk too. I added less cheese and added parsely and other spices, but the 500 degrees is the key, timing perfect, thank you for this great easy way to bake it! A hit each time!

I placed the fish on a rack in the glass baking dish to keep the bottom from getting soggy. I also serve with lemon wedges. One of my family’s favorites.

The texture came out perfectly flakey and moist w/a light crunchy texture and not burned at all. Upon reading the ingredients, however, I realized immediately that for my taste, I had to add extra (but subtle) seasonings: Italian bread crumbs, doubled the parmesan and added a bit of Old Bay along w/the thyme. because haddock is a very light tasting fish. Oh, and I reduced the baking time by 3 mins.

Cooked for about 20 minutes. I like my fish to be cooked well.

The fish was cooked perfectly, but two tsp of salt is way too much. Salt overtook the taste.

Needed to clean out my freezer and found some haddock to use up. Tried this recipe and loved it! I used panko bread crumbs and it did get beautifully crispy and very flavorful. Will definitely be making this one again.

Made this just as described, both of us called it delicious! It will be in our regular rotation for white fish dinners.

Save your parmesan cheese till the end, sprinkle it over at about the last two minutes of timing otherwise it will scorch. Timing too long, @ 500, should bake 12 min per lb. That’s how I’ve been baking my haddock for years. Most people overbake seafood and then wonder why it’s rubbery. Also dip in egg and milk before you add the crumbs. The egg keeps it from drying out.

This was the BEST fish recipe I have ever made. I love fish but can never get it to taste right. This has a LOT of taste to it. The parmesan cheese really did the trick. I used Panko crumbs rather than bread crumbs. And pink salt where salt was called for. I will be saving this recipe to try on other kinds of fish now.

Although this looked real good when I was making it, my Pyrex pan shattered when I took it out of the oven. 500F is way too hot. 15 minutes is too long. If you are going to make this, be safe and back down the temperature to 400F and check on it in the first 10 minutes. The other thing was that my smoke alarm kept going off. I bet I would have given this recipe 4 stars if it had a lower temperature. Smelled good.
