This is delicious; however, it did take longer than 45 minutes. If you want a tiny bit of crispness, 45 minutes is perfect. I needed 55-60 minutes to get the soft consistency I wanted.
Although it takes a bit of time in the oven it’s easy to throw together and tastes great.
Such a simple recipe but it was delicious. I didn’t have any flour on hand so I doubled the cornstarch. I also used gala apples and doubled the cinnamon. Everything turned out great!
Fantastic, easy, delicious, and can be easily made using Monk Fruit Sweetener to cut down on sugar. I made this as a special request for my diabetic dad (watching the sugar). seeing as it was his treat I also used 1/2 of each ingredient and made it in a mini aluminum loaf pan. I followed the steps and stirred the Organic Fuji Apples every 10 minutes. The sauce was as if a “soupy sticky-buns caramel syrup”! Requests to make it again are pouring in. Thanks, so much for this recipe! Bonnie
good recipe but had to cook the apples forever. i dont like hard apples in anything.
Doubled the recipe, used a little extra cinnamon, left out the salt. 40 minutes at 350 – Tender and delicious!
This recipe is not only very easy to make, it is also perfectly satisfying! I used to make apple pie for my family and they loved it, but now that the kids are grown and it’s just my husband and I, we don’t want the crust nor the excess leftover. This solves that issue…plus using it as a topping creates so many more options for enjoying!
I’ve made these twice now; I’m in love. These apples are good. I’ll continue to use this as my go to recipe for baked apples.
Easy & yummy! We served it with fresh whipped cream and it was a winner! Next time I made either add one more apple and/or cut the brown sugar back to 1/3 cup. It would be great over vanilla ice cream, but I would definitely cut the sugar back if serving that way.
The apples looked dry at first, but turned out delicious! Thanks!
Instead of baking them I nuked them for 5 minutes. I’m waiting for them to cool off so I can put them into dough to make turnovers. Of course I won’t be able to use all the liquid so I’ll save it to pour on pancakes or French toast. Sorry, the app gave me problems trying to upload the photo.
I used Gala apples and added 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. My husband said it was like eating apple pie without the crust. I’ll definitely make this again. This would be a nice side dish for a holiday meal.
Followed the recipe and it was really good.
Very good! I made mine GF by omitting the flour and doubled corn starch. I loved it with whipped cream! Would be good with pecans added.
Easy to make and tastes great!
very good
These apples are amazing!! I had one problem. The butter wouldn’t mix into the water/cornstarch mixture. I just ended up putting the small pieces of butter over the top of the apples in the dish. It still turned out delicious!
Simple and delish! Had with vanilla ice cream and cool whip. A nice treat for a Sunday splurge!
Used Cortland apples, yummy! Did top with mini marshmallows
Turned out amazing – served over French vanilla ice cream.
It came out fantastic! I added more tapioca starch than it called for, but it turned the sauce almost caramel like. Delicious!
