Baked Apple Cinnamon Rolls

With only a small portion of the calories, this delectable applesauce-based cinnamon roll has all the flavor of a traditional cinnamon roll. It makes a delightful sweet snack or brunch.

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  3. ½ cup light brown sugar
  4. 1 cup Mott’s® Original Applesauce
  5. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 (13.8 ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust
  7. ¼ cup light brown sugar
  8. ½ cup granulated sugar
  9. 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. For sauce, whisk together all ingredients in small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until sauce thickens.
  2. For cinnamon rolls, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly spray an 8-inch cake pan with non-stick cooking spray. Roll out pizza dough into 8 x 12-inch rectangle with the smallest length facing you.
  3. Combine sugars and cinnamon together in small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over dough. Pat sugar mixture gently into dough. Roll dough away from you. Dough will be about 2 inches in diameter and 12 inches long.
  4. Cut dough into 8 equally thick slices. Place rolls in prepared cake pan and Bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Pour sauce over rolls, and, bake for an additional 15 minutes. Let pan cool slightly on wire rack for 10 minutes. Serve.

I baked the recipe at 350 degrees Fahrenheit even though the time wasn’t on the site, turned out Great

This recipe is good, but missing a cooking temperature. I cooked at 375*F for the times suggested and it came out well. I added finely chopped walnuts to the filling and raisins to the topping, since they are just necessary parts of sticky buns for me. If I try this again I think I will skip the stove top part and just mix the topping together including raisins and put it in the bottom of the pan, layering the buns in and then Baking for 45mins and flipping them out like a traditional sticky or cinnamon bun. Overall it was good though!
