I made this side kick for a 4th of July picnic. The corn was sweet and juicy while the cheese sauce gave it a great creamy texture. The bacon was a nice hickory garnish since with one bite it unwrapped. But very very yummy! This is a great recipe to have in your collection.
GREASY ??? IT SAID USE COOKED BACON, TRY LEAN !!! & THE SPREAD DOESANT HAVE TO BE THICK !!!
I liked it except for the bacon. It was a nice change from just butter and pepper. The bacon didn’t really get crispy for me and it didn’t stick to the corn.
Corn is best when it’s CORN, not the grease trap this recipe is.
The corn was badly overcooked and the packet was a vile greasy mess. It was disgusting.
I don’t understand the low rating for this recipe. If you start with good corn this is very, very tasty.
It was a huge mess. Very greasy and salty with the poedwered cheese all over your hands.
The corn was horribly greasy and gross. Plus it was a huge mess — who wants to eat an ear of corn that is literally dripping in hot bacon grease??
This recipe was great. We cooked it on a little take along propane grill when we went up for a motorcycle race. The corn went so fast, it was great. I only cooked the bacon slightly so it didn’t get crispy. Some chose to eat the bacon, others didn’t, but they could not stop eating the corn.
I took the corn off the cob. Crumbled the bacon, mixed it all together. Put the sauce on the corn in a pot and cooked it on the stove.
Easy and wonderful. No mess.
