Have made this many times. It is always requested at parties! Definitely needs more dressing but I put the 2nd half on just before serving.
very good!
I also add 8-10 green olives and 1/2 pound of cooked ham to mine when I make it and it doesn’t last long at all. I also mixed 2 packages of Italian dressing in mine so it’s not dry.
We left out the pimentos as optional.
Great doe summer days. It is simple and tasty.
yummy
Great recipe for get togethers !
yummy
I make this salad often. It is very easy to customize to your own tastes. I add green olives and diced red onions. For pepperoni, I buy the bags of mini pepperoni. Great recipe for a party or picnic. Makes a lot of salad.
awesome
This is my new favorite pasta salad! I did not have fusilli pasta. Instead, I used large bow-tie pasta and the noodles held up well and looked beautiful. The salami and pepperoni make it for me! I had the deli employee cut the salami and pepperoni as thick as possible and cubed it up myself. I like the thick cubes of pepperoni versus the thin, round slices. I also added a cucumber (dried well before adding) and mild pepperochini. I liked the added color. I did dry the noodles very well and added Good Seasons Italian dressing (that you mix up. Instead of adding plain vinegar to the mix, I use red wine vinegar.) I made it all the night before and in the morning I mixed it up. I know that some said they added another 8 oz of dressing in the morning, but I do not like my pasta salad drenched and felt that all of the other ingredients really shined with 8 oz of dressing called for in the recipe. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe!
It was just ok. Too much meat and definitely not enough Veggies. Wouldn’t make again.
Made this for Memorial Day bbq and my kids absolutely loved it, which is high grade since they are picky eaters. I made it early in the morning, 7am, and served it chilled in the evening, 5pm. We stored the left over in the refrigerator and had it for lunch the next day.
I’ve been making something very similar to this for many years. For the pepperoni, the packaged stuff is very greasy! Go to the deli counter and ask for the sandwich style pepperoni. Ask them to cut off a chunk for about as much as you’ll need and dice it yourself. It will taste much better. For those who say the pasta was too dry, you must remember that it acts like a sponge. Make the salad and check on it a few hours later to see if it needs more dressing or not. I sometimes add some pickle juice, pepperoncini juice, etc. to the pasta add let it absorb into the pasta before adding the pasta to the salad. It gives it a nice flavor.
This is a remarkable recipe. It was delicious!
I didn’t have all the ingredients and needed a pasta salad for that evening, so I left out the cheese, salami and pepperoni. It was still amazing because it was a side salad to the meal. I will be sure to have all the ingredients next time I make this.
I swapped the cheese for feta and added sundried tomatoes!
This was so simple to make and it’s delicious!!
This is one of my favorite pasta salads that I make. I do make some minor changes as I love added extra veggies and take out the pimentos as I really don’t like them. Whenever I make this one there are never leftovers.
I’ve made this several times for company dinners, family reunions, for a sick relative, and for home. It’s been a big hit everytime. My grandson loved it and said I could make it for him anytime! I used the aged provolone cheese and it was so good in this salad. Will definitely continue to make it.
I use cheese tortellini in mine instead of the pasta
