I made this for a picnic. Everyone loved it. I use less milk and Granny Smith and Pink Lady apples as well.

Absolutely delicious

I’m sorry but this recipe did not work. It was so soupy. I even let the pudding set up more. Then I did as suggested, if it was soupy, to add more cool whip. It ended up having runny foam on it. It was yucky and no one at the party ate it so I will be throwing away a triple batch! 9 apples, 4 tubs of cool whip, pudding and 18 snicker bars. Ouch! $$ I would suggest trying a small batch ahead of time if you choose this recipe.

I have not made this but it sounds yummy. Just a thought, I would make it with out adding the apples, but slice them up and have on the side just to dip into the pudding mixture, also use graham crackers as a dipping tool, or crush on top. Like I stated just a thought 🙂

Idk what I did wrong but mine was all clumpy from the pudding mix. Maybe more milk? More cool whip? Still tastes good, just doesn’t look good .

I followed the recipe exactly and I wound up with a very runny salad. I did not serve it and the next day it was even more watery. Next time, I’ll make the pudding and let that set up first and then add the other ingredients.

You can’t go wrong with these ingredients! Made this for the Super Bowl party and everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. Whoever decided to call this a salad is a dessert lover so I will file this under “Desserts”! As for the recipe I decided to lower the milk to 1/2 cup because I was concerned if there was a lot left over it would get runny from the apples softening. I used a small box of vanilla instant pudding stirring only with a rubber scraper to blend in the milk and then gently folding in the 8 oz of thawed whipped topping. I used six snickers bars, the normal size. You can buy these in one package. If using a long chopping knife you can slice/chop all six bars at once at room temperature. I added the chopped snickers to the filling and let it chill for an hour before adding the chopped apples, using only 5 granny smith apples. Depending on the size of each apple you’ll have to judge for yourself how many to add. I chilled the mixture another hour before serving and you could definitely chill longer.

My mother-in law asked me to make this for Thanksgiving. She loved it! It was a big hit with everyone, as well. I added chopped walnuts and substituted the butterscotch pudding with vanilla pudding.

It was a hit with everyone.

I didn’t have the recipe that my sister usually makes and my daughter loves; however, she liked this version just as much if not more and my husband’s family was raving about it. It was a good one to have her make as well (14 yrs old).

I only made with cool whip in years past, but the pudding is necessary for the creamy consistency. I would prefer a different flavor than butterscotch.

I added 2 tablespoons more milk

It is an odd combination, but it is delicious!

So good for the holidays
Mr. Robert Perez
I doubled the recipe and did 1 butterscotch and 1 vanilla pudding. Brought it to my other half’s Easter get together and it was a huge hit. They said it was the new favorite and this was now my signature dish to bring to holidays. They’ve just done apples, snickers and cool whip or just added the vanilla pudding in the past.

This is my contribution to Easter dinner, except I’ll use Milky Way candy bars because of peanut allergies. I ran a test run for myself this week, and MW works just fine.

Used 1/2 the milk and made mix and refrigerated overnight. Added apples a couple hours before serving. Very very good

Simple and nice pudding.. just loved it?

Great recipe as is. ButterScotch pudding is what makes this recipe great. To make breaking the candy bars easier, freeze candy bars ahead of time, when ready to put the bars in, put them on a solid surface and hit with a hammer. Breaks them into nice small pieces.

My new favorite quick make and take dessert! Huge hit at two parties I’ve attended the past 2 weekends.

I made it with vanilla pudding. It was a hit at my grandson’s birthday party. There wasn’t a single bite left. This recipe will be a regular in our family.
