Apple Pie Bread

It was difficult to find a cake pan that would fit in the air fryer for this straightforward butter cake. I chose a ring tin since it works great and speeds up cooking. Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar on top.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 1 hr 20 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 35 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 1 – 9×5 inch loaf

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup white sugar
  3. 4 teaspoons baking powder
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  7. 1 ½ cups milk
  8. 1 egg
  9. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  10. 1 ½ cups diced apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cloves. In a separate bowl, mix together milk, egg and oil until well blended. Stir milk mixture into flour mixture. Fold in apple. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour 20 minutes, until loaf springs back when touched lightly in center. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.

My husband RAVED about this. I omitted the cloves, just personal preference. Other change was 1c of oats for 1c of flour. UPDATE: The second time I made it, I also added about 1c of chopped walnuts, and a big handful (1/2c maybe?) of raisins. This was delicious both times.

Add pecans – delicious – will definitely make it again

This is super easy. I took some of the others advice and used less cloves but added nutmeg and vanilla. I also used a larger loaf pan. I made 2 because my family really loves it. I also added cranberries and walnuts to the second.

I’ve used this recipe a lot and it’s always delicious. Family members have raved since the first time I had made it during a devastating hurricane. The smell that this gives off, feels like a holiday hug. This time around, I made them into little breakfast portions. Still came out at the recommended time. Makes enough to make like 13-14 cupcakes. I read a comment where they said it tasted like baking powder or something? No such thing! Maybe they used tablespoon instead of teaspoon? The only wonderful thing that lingers in your tastebuds is the cloves!

I have made this at least 6 times within the last 6 months. Everyone loves it. Family and friends favorite

This bread was ok, but I’ve had better. I did end up putting a streusel topping on some because I thought it needed something more. After reading the reviews, I did cut back on baking powder and cloves. I added extra cinnamon and extra Apple.

I used 1/4 cup less flour and sugar and baked for 1hr and 15mins. The clove and cinnamon flavors were my favorite part. Good recipe but nothing that wows

I tried this recipe last night and the bread turned out very bland.

Awesome!!! I substituted whole wheat flour for half of the flour and applesauce for the oil. I also added 2 tablespoons of fat free sour cream. I used 2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg in place of the cloves. The bread turned out moist & delicious and it was healthy 🙂

I doubled the apples and baked for about 10 mins less than the recipe called for. Delicious, and received rave reviews!

I followed the recipe, except that I only used half of the cloves that the recipe called for. The clove flavor was still overpowering. The crust was thick and hard, all the way around. The inside was good, but I am not a fan of scooping out the inside of a loaf of bread. I won’t try this recipe again.

very easy and good. I added a 1/2 cup of sour cream and a splash of vanilla. Also added a topping with 1/4 cup of chopped nuts, 1/4 cup chopped apples and a TBLS of butter and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Put in 2 bread pans.

I like this but made a few changes on my second try and it turned out much fluffier. I used 1 cup whole grain flour with 2 cups white flour, added 2 TBSP ground flax, used 3 TBSP cinnamon but no cloves, cut the baking powder by 1/3 and added 2 TSP baking soda and 2 TSP apple cider vinegar. This is so good I could almost eat the whole thing myself!

I absolutely love this!! Great for breakfast or afternoon tea! So quick and easy to make! perfect for slicing and toasting with butter! I left the peels on the apples and it was great! The only thing i did was add a half a teaspoon of mixed spice, which is a combination of cloves cinnamon and nutmeg, because i was out of cloves. Happy Baking!
