Looks fabulous. Question though, can I make this and refrigerate and cook later? Thanks.

Moist and flavourful

Fresh from apple picking and determined to use them all so I set forth with this here very simple apple crisp recipe just to get the ball rolling. Went over so well with my family I’m making another pan to freeze before moving onto apple muffins.

Love the topping as is but wayyyyyy too much sugar. I’ll use half of all sugar next time. Don’t add any water it’s a little watery without adding any. Flavor is good

Quick, easy and delicious with a touch of ginger. Variation, added ginger to the oats part of the recipe and extra oats.

Super easy recipe and almost identical to the one Baba made when we were young.

It cooked nicely and tasted good. But it is not my favorite recipe for crisp. That much water is not needed if your apples are fresh and juicy. I did not like how much liquid was left in the pan. Also, my preference would be to take the cinnamon out of the apples and put it into the topping instead.

It was alright but REALLY wet, I don’t think the water was necessary. I used my regular baking apples. From a house of excellent crumble makers, I feel like a disappointment

I finally found the perfect Apple Crisp recipe. reminds me of my childhood. My sons all time favorite dessert.

Delish, but I would make a few changes; next time I would only use 1/2 c of white sugar. I added lemon to keep apples from turning and added juice to recipe. Instead of adding crumb coat to top of apples, I will place on cookie sheet at 250 degrees, bake until crispy. Let cool and store in airtight container and sprinkle on top of each serving.

Very good. For the apple mixture I used half the apples/sugar and placed them in an 8×8 pan. For the crumble I made it as is except used Crisco, which is how my mom made it when we were on the farm. Double the ceumble!

This is a very tasty recipe! I added 3 tablespoons of maple syrup to the apple mixture. Served it over a Chapman’s moose ice cream sandwich. Very Canadian Ah.☺

We love Apple Crisp but this recipe didn’t turn out as expected. Cutting the apples small isn’t necessary (traditional slices are fine), adding water made soup, the crumble requires more butter, but adding a homemade caramel sauce was delicious and easy.

the taste was delicious but it was really watery. I drained at least 3/4 cup liquid out of it.

I’m adding my notes and changes here in a review, since I lost them when they discontinued the dinner spinner app. Hopefully someone else can benefit from them too! I typically use half granny smith and half honey crisp apples. Little to no water over top in step 3, just a small sprinkling at most. Sometimes I add a little bit of nutmeg in with the cinnamon, depending on my mood. And then I double the amount of crumble topping. And since I double the crumble, I usually use a deep 9×13 pan… Yummy!!

I made this recipe yesterday to use up some of my soft apples in my fridge. This recipe is amazing. I brought it to work for pot luck and it was gone in less than an hour. Will definitely make again

Great recipe, I tweeked it a little, I added a whole stick of butter, instead of rolled oats, I used apple and cinnamon instant oatmeal, 2 packs, I used self rising flour, and added walnuts on the top.

Want to take this recipe over the top? Scoop a half tablespoon of peanut butter into your bowl and stir it with this Apple crisp. Yum!
