Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) package angel hair pasta
- 2 ½ tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 ½ tablespoons pesto
- 1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons salt, divided
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash hot sauce
- ½ (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli florets, thawed
- 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
- Melt 1.5 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Slowly stir in milk and cream; simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened. Mix in pesto, parsley, 3 cloves minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon salt, white pepper, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer.
- Meanwhile, place broccoli in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover. Cook until tender but still firm, about 2 to 6 minutes. Drain.
- Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet. Saute shrimp, remaining 3 cloves minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon salt for 5 minutes, or until shrimp are pink.
- In a large bowl, toss pasta, shrimp and broccoli; pour sauce over and serve.

Darned near Alfredo! I made a few tweaks but i think if you slavishly follow the recipe you will be delighted. i used wild caught gulf shrimp and I urge you to do the same. The final product depends on the quality of the star ingredient!
This recipe is amazing! I alternated it a bit: less butter and cream, more milk (we like sauce less thick), added extra dash of worchester and an extra tablespoon of pesto. I used fresh coriander instead of parsley and left out the hotsauce. It still turned out amazingly! I’ll try with more shrimps and hot sauce next time.
Pretty much stuck to the recipe but maybe I should have measured the pepper, a bit much for my wife. Otherwise, it was a big hit.
I followed the recipe but added hot Chili peppers to the shrimp and I used spaghetti instead of angel hair pasta.it was good. This recipe is a keeper.
The homemade Alfredo sauce was to die for! Will definitely make again. It’s a good way to get your kids to eat broccoli.
Really really good! Made a few adjustments though. Added more Parmesan, more broccoli. Had to use a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Came out great 🙂

Husband proclaimed this was the best cream pasta dish he’d ever had. I didn’t have any milk but had extra heavy cream & protein nut milk. So, I subbed the 1.5 cups of milk for 1/2 cup nutmilk and 1 cup heavy cream. As we were eating it I realized I should have sauteed some mushrooms and made it absolutely perfect.
Only 4 because I did change a couple of insignificant things. Used BowTies, (I’m sure whatever pasta you use adds nothing to the taste) Half n’Half, (which is milk and cream) Pepper flake (hot sauce can sometimes be vinegary) and I had about a half cup of chopped onions I needed to use; which I added to the garlic when sautéing the shrimp. Will definitely make again.

I substituted farfalle pasta for the angel hair. It was great. People loved it.
This was really excellent! I had some left over and I baked some salmon and added to it. Was great. I can see substituting crab, scallops, chicken or fish in place of the shrimp. Any of that would work. Also, spinach would make another sub. Thanks for a versatile recipe!
Follow the directions and the recipe exactly as it is other than a little more garlic. Probably one of the best pasta, shrimp dishes I’ve ever had! I wish I could give it more than five stars! A huge hit with the family!
i changed the parmesan cheese with a jar of 4 italian cheeses. it was the bomb/
Hubby loved this! Told me to save the recipe and he’s a low key kinda guy. I did use lightly steamed asparagus and fettuccine instead of broccoli and angel hair. A BIG keeper!

I made this recipe, as written, and it is 5 stars! It is absolutely perfect as written. I was asked to make it 2 nights later for a late supper. I had to use rice instead of noodles because I was out of pasta and I used an entire bag of fresh spinach because I was out of broccoli. The family loved this version as well.
