Air Fryer Tofu

These tofu pieces are delicious as a snack, a salad topping, or a stir-fry ingredient. The size of your air fryer may need you to cook these in two batches.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Additional Time: 45 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces firm tofu
  2. 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce (such as Bragg®)
  3. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  4. 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
  5. ½ teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Place tofu onto a plate lined with several paper towels. Cover with more paper towels and another plate. Set a 3- to 5-pound weight on top and press tofu for 30 minutes; drain and discard any accumulated liquid and cut tofu into 1/2-inch cubes.
  2. Combine soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, and sesame oil in a small bowl; mix well. Add tofu cubes and marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  4. Place tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry for 5 minutes without shaking the fryer. Continue air frying, shaking occasionally, until browned, about 10 more minutes.

The prep was simple and airfrying gave a nice texture, but a bit bland. Ill probably try more spice next time.

It was pretty tasty and easy to make

I liked this recipe, but I overcooked them. I’ll definitely try again!

Delicious! I’ve made this a few times. These are crispier and lighter thank baked and certainly better than fried. You can even freeze your drained tofu for 24 hours for a chewier texture. These bites are delicious tossed in buffalo sauce or in your noodle bowl. No mess, lower in fat and calories than traditional methods!
