Favorite recipe- easy and can use butter instead of margarine. 3 bananas for me is about a cup. I half the sugar, tastes yummy

I am not usually a successful baker but I had bananas left so I tried this recipe with the changes of the one commenter made. It was a success !!!! Thank you commentor for adding the baking time! I gave four stars only because it wasn’t all the recipe that made it a success it was the additional changes.

I could tell from the reviews this was a great recipe for banana bread. A couple of changes I made was to add 1/2 tsp of nutmeg, which you really can’t taste but adds depth to the flavor. I also added 3/4 c. milk chocolate chips just before baking. My family loves chocolate, so this is a great addition. (I’ve also done blueberries when on hand, but the chocolate is the best.) I was going to omit the milk like some suggested, but the batter was just too sticky looking. So I added a scant 1/4 c. ( before adding the choc. chips). Mixing the milk in made the batter less sticky and easier to pour into the loaf pan.

So delicious! I added 1tsp of vanilla extract and 1/2tsp cinnamon.

Very easy recipe to follow and it tasted fantastic! Unfortunately, the outside finished baking before the inside so the center wasn’t completely baked.

I followed the directions but added about a tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Delicious!!!

Loved it! Followed a few ideas from other reviewer’s, then added just a little bit of nutmeg to the mix — a real home run!

I consider this the classic simple old-fashioned banana bread recipe. I cooked it for 60 minutes. Followed it exactly except I used 3 medium bananas which is a bit more than called for, and substituted almond milk for regular milk. About the most perfect banana bread ever, not too gooey, not too dry, plenty sweet enough.

The recipe is nice but like others i had to make small additions like adding cinnamon, a bit of oil to the mix. Will try again by adding some buttermilk next time. Hopefully will turn out more moist as this one is pretty dry in itself

This was just ok. As others suggested, I did add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp cinnamon. The flavor was decent, but the bread seemed too dense, not moist enough.

Great! I made it as directed. Easy recipe, moist and spices that were on point. Reminded me of my grandmother’s banana bread.

My son loved it so much that only half the loaf survived until it was completely cooled. Thank you for this recipe – I will do it again.

I use to have this recipe years ago and lost it! So happy to have found it again! Best Basic Banana Bread recipe there is!

It is very delicious and moist. I baked it in a stone and only for 50 minutes. I don’t think it will last a day with my family.

Very best banana bread I’ve ever made. From other reviews I took a few of their ideas. Instead of one cup of white sugar, I used 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Also added 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. I put in 4 small bananas, about 1-1/2 cups mashed, and 1 cup walnuts in big pieces. Perfect texture and flavor. Baked 1 hour. Will make again instead of my other banana bread recipes.
