Chocolate Almond Banana Smoothie

Our family loves to serve this New Zealand pavlova recipe at dinner gatherings especially at Christmas time. The crisp meringue outside and marshmallow interior are the ideal complement to one another. Whip some cream and fresh fruit on top.

Ingredients

  1. 1 ½ cups Almond Breeze Chocolate almondmilk
  2. 3 tablespoons toasted slivered or sliced almonds
  3. 2 large very ripe bananas
  4. 1 teaspoon ground flax seeds (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  2. You can also make this with Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate almondmilk.
  3. Feel free to substitute chia seeds for the flax.

I used vanilla almond milk and added carob chips for the chocolate taste. Whole raw almonds and hulled hemp seeds as well. It was delicious!
