Caramelized Apples and Onions

  5.0 – 1 reviews  • Fruit
This is the ultimate sweet and savory side dish. It is reminiscent of apple pie filling, but the caramelized onion brings out a savory note that makes it the perfect accompaniment for all kinds of proteins such as turkey, chicken or pork.

I added a little extra cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne pepper for a small kick. Served it on warm crostinis weigh Havarti cheese below the mixture. Great appetizer
