I made this and after I time everyone is hooked. So this is my party dish all the time!
Did not make any changes. Very light and refreshing taste.
This is delicious and easy I made it for our 4th of July picnic with the addition of a few blueberries with the strawberries it was quite festive for the occasion! I really recommend in warm weather or just for insurance purposes refrigerating the crust once it cools to room temp for a few minutes before spreading the cream cheese layer. Mine didn’t harden sufficiently on the counter due to our warm temperatures this year and some of it pulled up when I spread the cream cheese w/cool whip. Otherwise this a a wonderful warm weather picnic desert and I will make it again.
We love this so much. I use my vitamin to crush the pretzels in no time.
was great, just as i remembered it!
Absolutely the best dessert ever! Pretzels taste like pecans- amazing!
I can’t figure out how to keep the crust crunchy. Mine got very soft.
Made it in a 9 x 13 Pyrex pan so i doubled the strawberries and jello, also with the jello i put the frozen strawberries in it and it started setting right away so ill have to try fresh strawberries next time so i get a neater presentation. Other than looks i made sure the cream cheese layer was fully spread and nothing leaked through and didn’t cook the crust any longer than 10 mins so it was perfect, everyone loved it and i will be making this a lot more often now.
I love this dessert. It’s super easy and delicious. Someone mentioned refrigerating the cream cheese or it would separate. But I have never had that issue. I followed the recipe exactly and it turns out perfect.
I didn’t allow enough time for the crust to cool so my jello had started to firm up before I put it on top. That’s the only change that I would make.
It seems like every time I make it the crust never is a crust is always crumbly and no matter how much butter i add to it or less pretzels I add to it it’s never an actual crust is always crumbly in the drives me crazy.
We made it at work for a senior get together. Everyone loved it and none was left over! We didn’t change anything..
I have made this in the past instead of the jello and fruit I have always used cherry pie filling It has always turned out and I always get great compliments on it.
I have made this before and like some others mentioned, too often it does not gel right.. finally it came out perfectly! I reduced the 2 cups of boiling water to 1& 1/2 -(the frozen strawberries add more liquid as they thaw) also, this time I let the jello and strawberries set longer, about a good 15 minutes or so and it didn’t slide all over this time! One of my favorites!
This has been a favorite of my family’s for yrs, (I never knew the quantities) this recipe emulates it perfectly, thanks for the specifics!
Great fun pretzel desert for a hot summer day. It’s refreshing to taste. Be careful when baking the pretzels mixture so they don’t burn. You can also use fresh strawberries for less liquid.
Major hit with the family – love the sweet and crunchy taste……don’t change anything.
I made this a couple of months ago and just realized I forgot to rate- so I am going off my memory. It was delicious…everyone loved it, even my very picky mother! I followed someone Skye review and put my jello in the refrigerator to thicken- the problem is I forgot about until 30 minutes later- but it still worked. I believe I used 2 pkgs of cream cheese and 1 package of pretzels.
I made this dessert exactly as directed the first time but I couldn’t stomach the Jell-o separating and causing the crust to be soggy with liquid (water) in the pan. That was gross. SO, I made it a second time, and, instead of Jell-o, I just put cherry pie filling on top. Now I always use either cherry pie filling or blueberry pie filling on top.
We love this salad but use frozen raspberries and raspberry jello instead. Frozen strawberries are mushy so much prefer the raspberries and raspberry flavor over strawberries
It tasted as good as it looked it was a big hit at thanksgiving I’ll make this one again !!!
