One of my family’s weekly meals is this! It’s delicious and simple. Add some cheese, chopped green onions, chopped onions, sour cream, or crushed tortilla chips as a garnish. Even in a sourdough bread dish, perhaps!

Ingredients
- 1 ¼ pounds lean ground turkey
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Frank’s® Redhot®), or more to taste (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Mix ground turkey, tomatoes, kidney beans, pinto beans, chicken stock, onion, hot sauce, chili powder, salt, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, and black pepper together in a slow cooker; stir to break the turkey into small chunks.
- Cook on Low 6 to 8 hours (or High for 4 hours).
- The cayenne and hot pepper sauce determine the spiciness of the chili, so start with the amounts I recommended, and then you can always add more.

The result was a mealy and very watery chili with not enough substance to it. The color alone was off-putting. It was more of a pink seasoned mush. At least the turkey and onions should be browned first.
This was very good. I browned the meat first with a dash of crushed red pepper. I also only used 1 tsp of salt. Otherwise I made it as directed. Very good.
Turned out great! Made it beanless, used 2 Portobello mushrooms as a bean substitute. Also, added 1 jalapeño and 1 cubanelle peppers. This was done to the 12 serving portion. Not a lot of heat from these 2 peppers. Highly recommend

Loved the ease! I may tinker with the spices next time, as mentioned. I used ground chicken….not sure I would do that again…meat was too fine and ended up more like soup consistency. I will make again with turkey or beef.
Made this tonight b/c my husband loves chili when it is cold! I usually make a beef chili but since I gave up red meat I decided we were going to try Turkey chili. This turned out real good. I browned the Turkey first, added the spices as I was cooking the Turkey. Sautéed the garlic and onion in a bit of olive oil and added a bit of diced bell pepper and diced celery. Put the meat and sautéed veggies in our Ninja Foodi. Everything else was as recipe states except I also added a can of mild Rotel tomatoes. Served with sour cream, cheddar cheese and additional diced onion as toppings and cornbread on the side. My hubby enjoyed it and said it was better then the beef chili!

Fantastic! I used 1.7 lbs of ground tukey (package from Costco), added 1 can of black beans, corn, and diced tomatoes with chilis. I browned the turkey and added the onions and garlic to the turkey while cooking. I kept the spices the same except 1/2 TBS of chili power and no cayenne (hubby doesn’t like it super hot). I did add a few dashes of red pepper flakes. 100% making again!
Loved this! I browned the meat ahead of time and left out all the spicy ingredients bc of my young daughter (cayenne and chili sauce). So good! I also added 1/2 chopped peppers. Adding this to the regular rotation!
I’ve made this recipe many times both on the stove and in a slow cooker. Everyone always loves it. I’ve only tweaked it slightly to my taste, I add a can of drained corn kernals and I only use 1/4 tsp cayenne. But try the recipe as is, it’s delicious.

I made this using black beans instead of the beans this called for, since I don’t care for kidney or pinto beans. This came out just great. Added a little more cayenne and pepper sauce for my liking and I just love it.

It was my first time making this recipe and it was horrible. My family didn’t eat. My suggestion is to brown the turkey and onions then add the spices. Then transfer it to the slow cooker and then add the other ingredients. Hopefully it will taste and look better. Thank you!
Delicious chili! Followed recipe exactly except that I halved the hot sauce and cayenne pepper and substituted a finely-chopped chipotle pepper – only because I happen to love chipotle peppers.
Boy howdy is this an incredible chili! It doesn’t need any of the fixings chili usually needs like cheese, sour cream or tortilla chips even though they are very welcome additions. Be warned, my review is tainted. I used what I had on hand/could get in these weird quarantine times which was everything but actual ground turkey and the chicken broth. Instead, I used the rest of the ground pork and ground beef I had on hand. I also used a chicken and tomato bullion cube with 1/2 cup of water. This was cooked in an Instapot on medium for 8 hours. This is an immediate staple in our bi-weekly recipe rotation.
This is really good! I added corn and also some extra virgin olive oil so there was a little bit of fat. The spices were wonderfully balanced. I’ll make this again.
We all loved it. Did not us frank’s but put in chili powder and some hot peppers.
did not brown turkey before placing in slow cooker and should have. Would have been better. Also, do mix of turkey of ground beef.
My kind of slow cooker recipe – dump everything into the pot and cook. Made it for the first time tonight. My theory is always make it the first time exactly as written then adjust as needed – except I omitted the garlic and onion due to dietary restrictions. My husband and I liked it, neither one of us thought that it was too spicy. Next time I am going to brown the meat before putting into the pot, I thought that the meat texture was a bit weird. Otherwise, great easy recipe.
I made this particular Turkey Chili recipe for a bunch of people coming over for a football game. It was an absolute hit. If you follow the ingredients to a “T”, it will be a hit for all of you as well..
