Outstanding leftover turkey meal for the crockpot. On a chilly day, comfort meal with cream.

Ingredients

  1. 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  2. 1 (15 ounce) can chicken broth
  3. 1 ½ cups chopped cooked turkey, or more to taste
  4. 1 cup chopped potatoes, or more to taste
  5. 1 cup chopped carrots, or more to taste
  6. ½ onion, chopped
  7. 2 tablespoons butter
  8. 1 pinch garlic powder
  9. 1 pinch poultry seasoning
  10. ½ (10 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands!®), cut into squares

Instructions

  1. Mix cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, chopped cooked turkey, potatoes, carrots, onion, butter, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning together in a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on High for 3 hours.
  3. Stir soup, then arrange biscuits on top. Continue cooking until biscuits are cooked through, about 1 more hour.

Works well with chicken too. I cook on low for at least 6 hours then add the dumplings. Great for when it’s cold and snowy to eat in front of the fireplace.

Made this today for a group of campers with my leftover turkey from Thanksgiving that I had frozen. Omg it was so yummy , every one loved. Wish I had taken a pic.

Doubled the recipe to make enough for my family, I probably should have increased the cook time on high or did a slow cook for longer as the potatoes were not fully cooked and the biscuits were still doughy. I did use russet so maybe a white potato would have been better suited. Had an okay flavor and was good to use up leftover turkey, but probably would have been better in a pot pie.

This is so good. No need to cook the turkey though. Just buy turkey tenderloin strips and they will cook in 3 hours on high. This way they easily shred and fall apart.

This was so very good; all my family loved it, but one child, and he HATES his vegtables. His vegetables have to be ground to pulp before he will eat them. I made it as the recipe was written. I will be making this many times in the future.

Yummy! I made it as written except I used celery instead of potatoes. I used 4 Pillsbury Frozen Grands biscuits instead of canned. Certainly interchangeable with chicken!

Made this on a cold Easter day for lunch. Hit the spot! I did follow another reviewer’s suggestion, and doubled the meat, carrots, etc. I added peas, and celery. I ommitted potatoes. I forgot to cut the busciuts up and left them whole, which resulted in a soggy texture. Overall a great recipe. Next time I will double the broth as well, not sure if my busciuts soaked up a lot of the broth. Thought I might try croissant dough next time….
