This is a simple, fast-to-assemble slow cooker soup that has all the characteristics of a Tex-Mex chili. Simply tweak to your preferred level of spice by adding more taco seasoning or freshly chopped jalapenos. Totally the best taco soup! Very filling with tons of flavor.
Loved it. So easy to make and so delicious with some cheddar and sour cream. Tastes just like taco soup should! I saved the recipe and will definitely be making it again. Great for parties!
The meal is a very good meal. It is very tasty and it’s on a good day that you want something hot like soup and it’s very good. I give this meal a five star rating.
This was delicious! Made it exactly as the recipe. Only problem was I couldn’t get enough. Definitely make again. I’m retired and widowed so don’t get much good food but this was sooooo easy. Thanks for recipe.
I thought this soup was fantastic! I did add beefy onion soup mix and a little more hamburger I like my soups with a little bulk. Added about 1 cup more of water and some salt and pepper to it , then added green beans and the corn. My kids love corn and green beans! They loved it!! Very good!!
I love this one. I like it thick, like chili. So I leave out the water and substitute tomato paste for tomato sauce. I make a double batch and freeze it for later.
1 lb of ground beef is not very much for 8 servings, but based on all of the great reviews I made exactly as called for in the recipe. This was not a favorite and I will not make it again. Very thin and soupy and not very flavorful, imo.
Wow! So yummy. Substituted pinto beans because allergic to corn and used Mexican beer instead of water. Tastes amazing!
I just realized my mom’s been making this exact recipe for about ten years. I make this every few weeks during the winter months. I’ve subbed turkey and hot chili beans, and I use green hatch chiles and red onion. You can play with the amount of liquid to make it more soupy or less, and you can make it vegetarian by leaving the meat out. It’s always better the next day and I always demolish the leftovers.
Whenever I try a recipe for the first time I follow it exactly how it is written, this was delicious. I think instead of adding water I will add broth and also served it with some shredded cheddar and a dollop of sour cream along with tortilla chips. Super easy to make, this one is a keeper,
This is a super easy meal to make for your family if you do not have time for the crockpot just make it in A big dutch oven. If you want it thick like a chilly use less liquid if you want more of a soup using the 2 cups. It makes a great tasting chilly. I only used 1 cup of liquid.
We really enjoyed this! I added black beans, fresh diced jalapenos, and some shredded chicken that I had left over and wanted to use up. I also added taco seasoning to the ground beef as I cooked it. I didn’t get it ready in time to put in the crock pot so I simmered it on the stove. Will definitely make again!
This turned out super well. I did make a couple tweaks that perfected it. First I used two seasoning packets. One while I cooked the meat and one in the crock pot. Also while I cooked the meat I added Chili powder, Pepper & a little ranch seasoning. I put the same seasoning in the pot. Then I used black instead of chili beans. And for my diced tomatoes I got chili style tomatoes from the store plus pre seasoned diced tomatoes. Last instead of water I did beef broth. Make sure you use the liquid from all the ingredients. This helps it be more like soup than chili. If too thick just add more water or broth. Definitely serve with chips and sour cream. (P.S need it sooner? I did high for 4 hours and it was perfect but I could’ve also eaten it sooner. )
You know a recipe is a hit when both your kids and hubbs text you to tell you dinner was a amazing!!! Whoo hoo home-run. I did make a few changes and doubled it so we would have a few meals during this cold December. Added two cans of diced tomatoes with green chilies and cumin. This is a must try!!!!
I left out the chili peppers and the picky 5 yr old ate it up.
It was delicious.. the only difference was the beans I used, which were ranch style beans and black beans.
One of my favs! I add creamy Havarti Cheese when I serve it, just tops it off.
Super easy to prepare and make. It is something you can prepare the night before and cook in the slow cooker the next day, if needed. I did modify the recipe slightly to my taste. I sauteed the onion with garlic after browning the meat, replaced the 2 cups of water with 2 cups beer. I also added ranch dip mix for more flavor. The family and kids loved it. We’ll be making this again.
Loved it! Easy to make, great for lunch all week as a meal or an appetizer with chips.
I only had 2 cans of petite cut tomatoes in juice and used them. It turned out great and would make again.
Great soup but needs more seasoning. Try adding two packets of taco seasoning.
