I adore this dish. It tastes wonderful when served with brown basmati rice or salad. Paleo it is. Very tasty!

Total Time: 1 hr 25 mins
Servings: 10
Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 ¼ pounds ground turkey
  2. 1 tablespoon low-sodium chicken base (such as Better Than Bouillon®)
  3. 3 cups boiling water
  4. 3 (14.5 ounce) cans Great Northern beans, drained
  5. 1 (28 ounce) can green enchilada sauce
  6. 2 (4 ounce) cans diced green chiles, undrained
  7. 1 onion, chopped
  8. 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  9. ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  10. 2 teaspoons dried Mexican oregano
  11. 1 bunch fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  12. 1 onion, diced

Instructions

  1. Crumble ground turkey into a Dutch oven over medium heat; cook and stir until turkey is browned, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease.
  2. Stir chicken base and boiling water together in a bowl until base is dissolved; pour over cooked ground turkey. Add Great Northern beans, enchilada sauce, green chiles, chopped onion, granulated garlic, cumin, and oregano; stir well. Simmer until flavors have blended, about 1 hour. Spoon chili into bowls.
  3. Combine cilantro and diced onion in a bowl; sprinkle over chili for serving.

Sooo yummy! I used Hatch green Chili enchilada sauce AND the green chilis that were called for. I also pureed one of the cans of the Northern beans. Next time I will use 4 total cans of the beans, pureeing one of them to thicken up the consistancy even more. I also squeezed lime juice on it at the end before adding the cilantro garnish. I will make this all the time now

Popa’s Simple White Chili by BD Weld … I almost halved this thinking we’d get chilil’d out before it was gone. Well, we’re doing just fine with it! 😀 ‘Only notable changes were using 1/2# turkey chorizo for the 1 1/4# turkey turkey & adding 1/2c uncooked rice to thicken. Thank you! BOOKMARKER

I will definitely make this again . I only had 2 cans of great northern beans so I added a can of chick peas that I had . Was a great change from regular Tomato based Chile.

I made this as listed but adjusted various spices for our tastes. Four stars because 3 cups of water were about 1 1/2 cups too much, unless you prefer your chili like soup. It’s too liquidity for our tastes, but I fixed it with hot chili liquid and flour. Quite tasty. I’d definitely make it again.

Wonderful recipe, yes I would make it again. I added some sage sausage, it was yummy!!

this is a great quick chili base without tomatoes. I made a couple of changes if I did not change the base ingredients. sauteed onion celery and carrot and use low sodium chicken broth. I also use leftover rotisserie chicken. used all the remaining listed ingredients. thanks for sharing this quick tasty chili.

Other than adding a little red pepper flakes for a little extra bite I made no changes. this is wonderful. There is no way it makes 10 servings. At least not the way I gobble it down

Outstanding. Loved it. Had to substitute leftover turkey for the gr. turkey and 2 cans pinto beans because we only had one can white beans. Will definitely make again.

This was so good!!! I made it in the instant pot and then turned it to slow cook mode until we we ready to chow. The flavors were fantastic! The only change I made was to use a tsp of cumin and added a tsp of rouge pimento.

Four stars for flavor, five for ease. Very nice. Just for fun, I added some pasilla pepper and diced tomato, as well as a little chipotle chile powder. I liked the changes but think it would have been great without them too. Using a premade enchilada sauce was brilliant to get a tasty and somewhat unusual base with no work!

We will absolutely make this again! It was delicious and best of all, super easy! I am not overly fond of ground turkey so I instead cooked up some chicken thighs and shredded them to throw in. I also forgot to add the canning liquid from the chili peppers, which I will do next time. We loved this recipe and it’s getting added to the regular rotation!

Something different….liked it a lot…

This was a little bland… adding Tabasco, salt and red chili flakes really helped. Next time I’ll add finely chopped jalapenos with the onions.

Used chicken, this recipe is amazing! Try it!
