Loved how easy it was. I added 1/2 a can of diced Jalapeno. Just a little kick is good.

I made this and it was delicious! Used one pound ground deer meat and one pound of sausage-the bbq sauce really helped the flavor too!

This is a very tasty and easy chili. I made it without any meat, because I wanted to see what the chili alone would taste like. I agree with others that the brown sugar and BBQ sauce really give it a wonderful sweetness. I also added 2 jalapeños but trimmed out the seeds so it wouldn’t be hot yet add flavor. Next time around I’ll add some sort of meat.

This recipe is an excellent starting point. I typically add a few of my own touches: Like others have suggested, I brown the beef with a pound of Italian sausage. Using different colored beans makes for a bit of eye appeal and in lieu of brown sugar and BBQ sauce, I use molasses to give the flavor a bit more depth. Using prepackaged chili seasoning is good in a pinch but there are much better homemade chili seasoning recipes out there.

I added 1lb of sausage to 1lb of hamburger for the meat. Delicious!! I’ve now made it a couple times with rave reviews all around!

I used 2 lbs of ground beef and 4 cans of Chili beans. They didn’t have Bush’s brand so I got Heinz. I used the 1/4 cup of brown sugar and a couple dash of BBQ sauce. Really easy and very tasty! Definitely a keeper! ??

First making this and I love it.

Added a more ground beef and an additional 1/2 pack of chili seasoning to account for the additional beef and it was great!!

Best chili I’ve ever made! I added all ingredients plus threw in 2 jalapeños seeds removed. I also added extra ground beef so with that I added an additional 14.5oz can of chili tomatoes. The recipe was perfect as written, just wanted a little spicy to go with the sweet. Also I was hesitant about the brown sugar but do it and add a big 1/4 cup plus I went a little heavy on the bbq sauce as well. 10/10 would recommend

Pretty Good. Very simple. Great base to use for improvising.

We don’t eat beef so I used ground turkey. Since we are two adults, in addition to the package of chili mix, I added a tsp of chili mix and a tsp of cajun seasoning. I added a minced garlic as well. Delicious!

Excellent! Thank You for the recipe!

This is a great slow cooker recipe for chili. I made a couple of changes to the recipe. Replaced chili beans with red kidney beans. Replaced ground beef with ground turkey. Did not add the barbecue sauce because we don’t like it too sweet.???. Cooked it on slow for 8-10 hours. The extra time is well worth the flavor! Served with a shredded cheese and some sour cream on top.

Great recipe! The only thing I leave out is the brown sugar. I make a batch and freeze some so we can enjoy it again later.

This was great chili. Made it for our Christmas Eve get-together and everyone loved it. The young and the old. Great chili.

I found that this recipe worked well for a start to what I was looking for. I must point out, that I used a large onion, and it was too much, but I own that. I used soe sweet BBQ sauce, and my “dash” might have been too much as well. This is no fault of the recipe poster. With all that said, it was really good. I doubled everything to make twice as much. Next time, I will use a smaller onion, use less BBQ sauce, and add Louisiana hot sauce. I added at least a tsp to add some heat, probably close to 2 tsp. The heat was perfect for me personally. Great recipe to work from, and thanks for posting it.

This is a great easy recipe. I used a new chili seasoning which wasn’t very good. I will make again with a different brand. Also, I should have followed others and cut brown sugar in half. It really was way too sweet. I skipped the BBQ sauce too. I didn’t want to waste a bottle when it called for such a small amount. I also used turkey instead of beef for a healthier option.

Easy, fantastic chili recipe! I added 1/2 tsp of liquid smoke and 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. I also added 1 cup of chopped green pepper. Delicious!
