Used 6 slices of bacon, one onion chopped, four spring onions chopped, one large carrot chopped, dried rosemary, fresh thyme, one box chicken, 1 1/2 cups dried split peas, two garlic cloves. Perfect. Cooked 2 1/2 hours.

Delicious I used my Immersible blender after the split peas were cooked to purée everything I also use garlic pepper and basil I didn’t have any rosemary was a little thin because I used 48 oz container of chicken broth problem Could have added more split peas maybe next time even thinner tasted really good!!

AMAZING! The Rosemary really puts it over the top. My modifications; 3 pieces bacon and carnelized a sweet onion and grated only half carrot cooked down. No leek. Added my own ham hock so it added a few bits ham. Crock-Pot on high for couple hours. Blended 2/3 and left the rest for meats plus texture.

I thought this was very easy and tasted great. I did have changes due to ingredients I had on hand. Had no leeks so left them out and I dont care for rosemary so i omitted that too. My only other change was in the method: I cooked the bacon till it was about half way done then added all the chopped veggies and the peas as well because I was in a hurry. Watched them carefully, stirred so no sticking (8 minutes approx) added the broth and cooked less than an hour. I will def make this again. Thanks for this great recipe. p.s. I don’t think you can expect much flavor using turkey bacon.

This was great! I omitted the leek and added an extra carrot. I also added some honey glazed ham I had from leftovers. The last 15 minutes I bumped the heat to medium heat and it boiled and cooked the split peas way faster and thickened the soup really nice! Will be keeping this recipe!

Great taste. I don’t usually use bacon or leeks (or rosemary!) in this type of soup, but they were on hand (and I had no ham). Came out very nice. Made plenty to enjoy later, too.

This is my go to split pea recipe. I use half chicken broth, half bouillon and water. Cook it in the slow cooker and serve with corn muffins. Nice light and easy meal!

Simply amazing soup. I am finally gathering enough RoseMary themed recipes to get this rosemary bush trimmed down a bit. Don’t change anything. Just make it!!!

I made this for my roommate…. I personally have never like split peas, but then again I don’t often eat any peas, but he ‘Loved It” and he must have, I made enough for 4 servings and there was NO left overs, he wants me to make it again only with some ham, I said I would after Christmas dinner, since I am sure we will have some left over ham…. My roommate said to rate this with at least 5 stars…. I would have given it at least 4.9 stars because of how easy it was to make.

This was a big hit. I love making it for my church family.

Delicious. Essentially the recipe I’ve been using for years and I sub out green peas for yellow or a mixture of the two. Thanks for sharing your recipe! 10-2018 No bacon? Can use a little bit of liquid smoke to taste, finely shred a small amount of ham and add. Also good.

My family loved it. Thank you for this recipe.
