This tasted great, and was easy to make. I stuck to the recipe, except I used five cloves of garlic and added a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, because I like hot and spicy food. This was very good!

I didn’t have shrimp,so I used scallops instead it turned out great

Great recipe! Used what I had on hand… Pink salmon, crab, and shrimp. Came out great, and not a ‘fishy’ smell that I can’t stand. tasted great. Added some frozen corn and shredded zucchini too.

I will absolutely make this again, although I improvised. It’s delicious! 1. I was unsure of the reason for the yogurt, besides the reviews indicated the yogurt created a less appetizing appearance, so I didn’t use it. Typically yogurt neutralizes spiciness and I was confused why I’d use yogurt and remove heat from a “spicy fish soup”. 2. I make my own stock, always richer than what one buys. I salvage and freeze the rendering from baked chicken, (or beef and seafood, for that matter). That’s what I used for the chicken broth. 3. I used the entire can of diced tomatoes, using that to create the liquid that the broth would have. 4. There was no cod at the store so I used catfish, which I cooked in the broth, until it broke up. 5. I also used 1/2 lb shrimp and 1/2 lb scallops, but since I like my shell fish “just done” so it’s not stuff, after the soup was finished, I added the shrimp and scallops and allowed them to steam cook in the broth, in the covered pan.

Not a bad base, but definitely needs some work. First just skip the yogurt, no one needs that nonsense. Then substitute 1 or 2 large fresh jalapeños for the can of chilis, but then pour in about 1/4 cup of tomatilla salsa for that green chili flavor. Odds are it still won’t be very spicy, but whatever that is what hot sauce is for. One & a half cups of broth is clearly inadequate, just fill that pot with a solid quart. I have no idea why anyone would use just 1 clove of garlic, you need at least 3/4 of an entire bulb, a clove is a snack not an ingredient. Oh and add salt, lots of salt.

I didnt see how it says to cook the fish/shrimp so i seasoned the fish (salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic, onion, cumin, chili powder) and cooked in canola oil in a skillet. I doubled the recipe. Used 4 Jalapeno in place of a can of green chiles. Used 2 fresh tomato in place of a can. Chose fire roasted tomato. Used Sour Cream instead of yogurt. Very good, heckin spicy!!

I will not make it again. My husband and I were SO disappointed after the big build up. I can’t believe so many people said it was good.

I made this soup once before but I don’t remember it being this delicious. Here’s the small changes that I made. First I used all cod only because I didn’t have any shrimp (next time I will use shrimp). I used vegetable broth instead of chicken. I also doubled the recipe and added an additional cup of broth. My daughter asked me to make rice to go with it but I didn’t add it in because I like the soup without rice or pasta. My husband said it was so good that he almost swallowed his spoon. This recipe is a keeper!!

I love this recipe. It is my absolute favorite soup to make. I follow the recipe exactly. I make it ever month and it instantly makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Perfect amount of kick and full of flavor. Serve with a side rice or mix right into your bowl

I decided to try a dinner outside my comfort zone – ended up trying this soup. My wife and I were *very* pleasently surprised at how delicious and savory this soup was. I can recommend it unreservedly.

The soup was very good. I used a package of frozen mixed seafood that I had (shrimp, scallops, mussels and calamari) and forgot to add the yogurt. It was very light and flavorful.

Turned out amazing! We peft out bell pepper and yogurt. Did Hot Chile’s and jalepeno. A must try!!!

Got rid of the yogurt for same amount of heavy cream. Looked nothing like the picture. I know its not from the cream. I used very fresh cod and shrimp right off the boat. So cooked about 2 mins. Longer. The flavor wasnt bad, but looked more like a bisque and would have been fantastic with lobster pre cooked and sauteed in butter mixed in at the minute.
