Keeper. Minor changes because I had to.. 2 cans stewed tomatoes – no tomato sauce. Didn’t add Mrs dash or salt. did not need it.
Wow, I love making soup, and this recipe was not only delicious but taught me how to make a yummy tomato based soup! All the stars. I don’t use a seasoning blend, so here’s my seasoning and additions: Cooked the kielbasa to a deep brown as suggested in earlier comments, then added the onion, pressed garlic, and about 8-10 oz diced peppers. and cooked until fragrant. I used Muir Glen stewed tomatoes which come with some seasoning and used a low salt vegetable broth. I salted & peppered to taste, then added 1/2 tsp each of smoked paprika, oregano, and two bay leaves (bay leaves are what makes soup taste like soup to me.) I used Jovial gluten free pasta, which required a good extra 10-15 mins boiling at the end. I was very concerned about that but it came out tasting *amazing*. One of the better soups I think I’ve ever made. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me make it.
We loved this soup. It was a nice change of pace and easy. we thought of sharing some, but ended up eating it all!
A perfect soup for the fall. Sauteing the kielbasa to a deep brown adds a great depth of flavor.
This is a great recipe! I sauted the kielbasa to a deep brown, then added the onion and garlic and deglazed the dutch oven. Once the pan had deglazed I added the carrots, tomatoes and spices as the recipe is written. I will make this again and add other veggies; whatever I have on hand. Great solid recipe!
I thought this was good. I followed the directions exactly, just using 1/2 package of turkey kielbasa, I had leftover, and half the amount of carrots as it was what I had. It is filling and has a pretty descent flavor, especially considering how quick it is to make. ty
