Actually, a decent loaf of bread may be produced in a slow cooker, and it’s really simple to do so. Additionally, it is rapid because only one rise is needed; the second rise takes place in the slow cooker. Not only do seeds or rolled oats offer taste, but they also facilitate removing the bread from the slow cooker.

I made a double batch. But I added vanilla extract, no nutmeg, and 1/4 cup oj. I also did 50% marshmallow topping and 50% pecan brown sugar toppings. And I recommend putting it under the broiler for a couple minutes to get a better browning.
So tasty! I didn’t have nutmeg so I used apple pie spice but otherwise followed the recipe. I love the little zing the orange juice gives! will definitely make again and maybe add a pecan topping. (no picture cause the marshmallows got burnt. lol)
Good recipe. We don’t drink orange juice, so I substituted with pineapple juice.
Enjoyed it – will make it again though marshmallows must be a bit bigger than than the mini’s.
Best recipe for kids .A little too sweet for me. But easy to do and realtuvely successful
After making a traditional sweet potato bake for Thanksgiving with cinnamon spice, I saw this and thought I would give it a try since it had different flavor elements. I used the juice of a whole orange which totally brightened it up. It was so good! Taking a bite with the marshmallow made it taste exactly like a creamsicle. I will definitely be making this again!
Made it for Easter. Everyone thought it was delicious. Quite easy to make and I reheated just for serving.
My family did not enjoy the smooth texture of the mashed sweet potatoes. If I would have used a hand masher, I think it would have been more to their liking. I used half the amount of brown sugar called for in the recipe and think I could have used even less. I also added 1/2 tsp. Of cinnamon along with the nutmeg. ( I had doubled the number of sweet potatoes)
I happened to have some Kosher marshmallows in the house, so I thought why not try a new sweet potato casserole recipe. I cut the sugar by half and added 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. I put in 5 ramekins ( inspired by the posted picture). I didn’t measure the marshmallows, just used as much as needed to cover the sweet potato mixture. It took about 15 minutes for it to bake to golden brown. It was delicious but I felt it needed some salt. I will add 1/4 teaspoon of it next time.
My husbands family has been making sweet potatoes out of the can with a stick of butter and cup of sugar for years. It is super sweet and most of my family isn’t a fan so this year decided to try a mashed version with a little less sugar to potato ratio and healthier fresh potatoes. I am super glad we did. The texture is much better and the sweet balances nicely. We did use 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg and thought it was just right but and 1/8 would be plenty. Will be our go to recipe from now on. it also doesn’t need the marshmallows if you are wanting to cut some of the sweet or could even use less brown sugar. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
The best! A taste of orange juice with a little bit of nutmeg and of course brown sugar! Really makes these sweet potatoes yummy…
A favorite every Thanksgiving. I substitute crushed pineapple for orange juice because I prefer the flavor and texture. Thank you for this easy and delicious family favorite!
Just finished making this, and yeah it’s pretty delicious. I didn’t use the brown sugar, marshmallow or nutmeg and used yams as opposed to sweet potatoes. Here’s what I did: I finely chopped about 20 dates in the food processor, for sweetness. I added the yams, sprinkling with cinnamon as it pureed, then the butter, pre-melted, a dash of salt and the orange juice. Smoothed into the casserole dish, then prepared my topping. In a bowl I added approximately 2 tablespoons of melted butter to about 1/2 cup of labne (Middle Eastern yogurt which I use as a substitute for cream cheese, sour cream, and more). Mixed in a splash of vanilla, about 2 teaspoons of sugar, whipped it up by hand, then smoothed over the sweet potatoes. The finishing touch: A handful of pecans and one date finely chopped together in the food processor, then sprinkled over the casserole. Bake according to directions. Usually tasting as you go is a good way to avoid anything funky. Trust your gut!
This is a very good recipe. A nice change from the really sweet, sweet potato recipes. I did cut back on the sugar to 1/2 cup and it was perfect!
I loved loved this!!!!
I really loved this recipe! I will be making this again. I might try putting some pecans in I the next time.
I added a dash of cayenne pepper that give it a little extra kick to make it a huge hit at dinner.
This recipe needs salt. There has to be enough salt to bring out the flavor and temper the sweetness a bit. I kept adding pinches of salt to the whipped mixture until it tasted right (for me). I ended up using about 1 teaspoon, but your mileage may vary. With the added salt, this recipe was excellent, and I didn’t change anything else.
I added cream cheese frosting… AMAZING!!
This is my go too holiday recipe, I use Sugary Sam Yams and add 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. I have also tried orange pineapple or orange mango juice instead of orange juice and both work well
Made this as written, for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it! It was the only dish that had no leftovers, it was eaten up! This will be my recipe for Sweet Potatoes, and I not waiting for Thanksgiving to make it again. Yummy!
