I didn’t add any hot sauce because I don’t like spicy. To me it tasted too much like ketchup originally so I added more mustard and Worcestershire. Very easy and tasted good!
Great tasting sauce! Saved money by making this at home versus running to the store to buy steak sauce.
Made the sauce found good but did change sauce used fresh made Worcestershire sauce and added onion and garlic powder 1/2 tsp each and 1/4 tsp adobo. Used 1 tablespoon of yellow and 1 tablespoon of spicy instead of just yellow. Came out amazing.
This steak sauce was really tasty. I will definitely make again. Just as good as the grocery store steak sauce and so easy to make. Yum!
This is a great recipe. I made no substitutions and no additions. The only alteration made was omitting the additional salt. Washed out the empty steak sauce bottle and filled it with this. I will not be buying steak sauce again!
Subbed the worchestire sauce for soy sauce, subbed the ACV for lemon juice, and added honey! Delicious!
Great steak sauce recipe. I used it to marinade my sirloin steaks and it was delicious. I might kick up the spice next time, but is great as is.
WAY too much ketchup. Had to look up other recipes to calm the flavor down. (And I love ketchup)…
It was awful. I followed the directions to the letter, measured everything. It just tasted like a spicy ketchup. Not at all what I was going for. I wanted it to taste like A1, this was D-.
Liked the steak sauce, double the mustard and Worcestershire sauce
I wouldn’t make this again. I’m a big supporter of trusting the author and following the recipe exactly the first time. I used french’s mustard and IMO the sauce as prepared had a strong mustard flavor. I went ahead and marinaded some steak tips in it (like I would A1) for half an hour and when they came off the grill they somehow tasted like ketchup. The beauty of this is you can taste and adjust it as you make it. I would suggest using half the mustard initially and adjusting to your tastes. I think it might also benefit from a bit more vinegar.
I thought this sauce was just okay. I won’t make again.
It was a good sauce. The only thing I recommend is adding a little more Worcestershire sauce and a little less mustard but still good.
Did NOT alter a smidgen and absolutely LOVED it, I have to agree with most where as a steak sauce of any degree is a complete insult to a good steak, but hamburger steaks were awesome! Thanks 4 sharing!
add a splash of liquid smoke and BQ sauce then you have it !! Better than Heinz 57, which is my fav….thanks
I loved it! I replaced salt with garlic salt. There has to be some whiff of garlic!
It was awesome
I cut down a bit on the mustard so it wouldn’t be too strong in the sauce and this was very good.
This is a great base, I say that as I got strong ketchup and mustard flavors versus the Worcestershire and other ingredients. I did add more Worcestershire, as well as soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, red pepper, and chipotle pepper. I let that all marry in the fridge which turned out pretty darn good. I’ll definitely use this again with my own additions. Thanks for the recipe!
Quick easy and tastes great
I used my favorite brand of mustard, but followed the rest of the directions. Super good! I used it as a marinade for tofu and a dip for vegetables, baked potatoes and steak. I also used it as a flavoring in the recipe for Better Homes and Gardens smoky cheese ball
