I wanted to find a really simple, quick spaghetti sauce so I settled on this one. I made it exactly to recipe except for the white wine, my bottle of which had mysteriously disappeared when I went to get it! So that got left out, but it didn’t matter. This sauce was delicious and given how easy it is to make will definitely replace the commercial ones.

Have made a time or two now. It’s great! This time I added some ground moose meat. Yum!

The other ratings convinced me to try it, and I made it to the letter except for the green onions (omitted). Plenty of seasoning, but it cried out for simple salt and pepper. So bland without it– was this an oversight in the editing?

Very easy. Also added tomato paste and hot sausage

Best quick sauce recipe I’ve found! I used Italian seasoning instead of basil and oregano and doubled the sugar amount. Mixed with San Marzano tomatoes it turned out perfect. We’ll be using this recipe from now on.

I think this recipe is great for a basic quick and tasty spaghetti sauce. You can add to it as you please. I did not use the green onions and I added fresh mushrooms while the onion was cooking. I liked the consistency of the sauce so I never used the tomato paste others have suggested. Also I noticed some thought it had too much oregano so I went a little lighter maybe 3 teaspoons instead of 4 on the oregano. It all comes together nicely and has a good flavor. As others say it is a great sauce you can add to. So if you like do your meatballs, sausage or ground beef or ground Turkey and peppers. But just know it is a great basic spaghetti sauce!

Quick and one of the few easy spaghetti sauce recipes. I didn’t have any onions so instead used onion powder. Really good.

I think it’s great! I recommend it. I made Chef John’s meatballs to go along with this sauce. Taste test is fabulous. In oven @ 250° 3 hours.

This is really a good sauce. I can my own tomatoes and I used cream cheese to make it a bit thicker. Also added lean ground beef. For us it’s not spaghetti without meat! Definitely a quick and easy sauce to make. I have made it several times and it never disappoints

This is a marvelous starter spaghetti sauce. I did add tomato paste and an extra tsp of sugar. I did add some beef broth and worcecheshire sauce. It was outstanding.

Good and simple (who doesn’t like that). I did a few tweaks. A little more garlic, tomato paste, and around 3/4 cup of water to make it more saucy. (Better to dip the garlic bread in)?? Add a couple big meatballs and you’re a happy camper.

I used crushed tomatoes instead of diced. The recipe called for too much herbs, probably would have been better with just two teaspoons of oregano and basil. It was a quick and easy recipe, I used the sauce with stuffed shells and will cut down on the herbs and use again.

Sure enough, quick and easy! And very tasty!
