To a butter sauce designed to go with grilled salmon, grilled lemons add a smoky tartness. The finish is made fresh and crisp with a dash of dill. Use just fresh dill; it makes all the difference.

This is delicious and live in the South! Better than I’ve had restaurants. I had a pretty large bag of collards so I added 32 oz. Chicken broth and extra water. Did add low salt soy sauce (a dash). Some chopped onion, crushed red pepper, couple lemon wedges and a bit of whole peppercorns. My ham bone was left over. Simmered on low for 3 hours. Excellent!
Made w/turkey drippings and can of chicken soup hot sauce s.@p. to taste in microwave pressure cooker. 1st. try-still cooking
I didn’t have white vinegar and made a substitute, black cherry balsamic vinegar. Combination of ham marinade sauce.
These were excellent although I did simmer them for a full 2.5 hours. They simply were not done to our liking after only an hour of cooking. Flavor was spot on and I will be making these again! Family all gave 5 star reviews as well! Thanks for sharing your recipe!
We loved this recipe reminded me of my Gmas. We used Turnips instead of collards and it was awesome.
This is exactly how I have been making my collards for years! Absolutely love this !!
I made it as instructed and reduced it to four stars only because my family recipe is just one star better. All told is made a delicious side dish.
I love these greens! I’ve made them twice, using bacon instead of ham hocks. 5 stars from me!
I did not have vinegar but everything in the crockpot was delicious!
Awesome!
I never thought I could make collard greens until I tried this recipe. I did add a left over ham bone that still had lots of ham left on it and I also added some smoked sausage to it. It was amazing!!!!
I thought it was very good. I used two bunches of greens, and doubled the liquids. I would use less liquid next time I make.
Smoked turkey also is good in greens bell peppers and onions And u can also add a little bit off red hot pepper flakes for a little. Spice
I have never made collard greens from scratch and was a bit nervous to do so. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty they came out. This recipe did not disappoint and I will definitely make these again and not just for New Years.
Use this recipe to make collard greens for my family for New Years eve and they loved it… the only thing I will do different next time I make them is boil the ham hocks a while before I add the rest of the ingredients for more tender ham hocks.
Excellent. Made as directed. I added sugar and apple cider for personal taste.
It was delicious I am glad I found this recipe
Loved it. I will definitely make it again for New Year’s Day .
Excellent recipe! I cannot boil water and I managed to make this perfectly. I added crushed red pepper and chopped onions! Absolutely delicious. I also used one of the other reviewers advice and placed the ham hocks in the distilled vinegar and chicken broth in my crock pot overnight. After I got home the next day, I added my greens to boiling water with salt, pepper, crushed red pepper and chopped onion and added my ham hocks and pot liquor from the crock pot to the greens and simmered them for 1 hour! Pure perfection! Thanks so much for this recipe.
I loved this! Added onions and used season salt!
Wouldn’t change a thing!
