Shengdana Chutney (Dry Peanut Chutney)

This is a novel coleslaw recipe that is very popular. It is based on a recipe I discovered in a cookbook, but I discovered it was much easier to make this way, and others also appeared to enjoy it more.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup roasted peanuts
  2. 2 teaspoons chili powder
  3. 1 dried red chili pepper, or more to taste
  4. 1 teaspoon toasted cumin seeds
  5. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Crush peanuts, chili powder, red chile pepper, cumin seeds, and salt with a mortar and pestle until fine and powdery.
  2. You can also use a spice grinder to prepare the chutney.
