Since my family doesn’t care for peppers, I ignored them but added garlic instead. Excellent aroma and flavor!
Oh my gosh! I absolutely adore this recipe. I tried a lot of things with broccoli and nothing really compliment like Sesame does. I will be using this recipe a lot!!
Used half vegetable and half sesame oil which provided plenty of flavor. I also used a red pepper instead of green to add color.
Kinda doubled the oil and seeds…steamed the fresh beans first, toasted the seeds and then mixed all and sauted for 10 minutes…the family cleaned the pan
Excellent but I used snow peas instead of peppers
Great vegetable dish and easy too. I add garlic, onion, dried cranberries and it’s turn out very good! I liked to add a picture, but I don’t know how. :o(
I made it according to the recipe and we enjoyed it – did not find it bland at all, as some others have mentioned. I was glad to have a change from steamed broccoli. Easy to make!
Perfect side dish with sushi. I needed a vegetable dish to balance out the dinner and this worked well. Followed other reviews and added garlic, a splash of low-sodium soy, and chili flakes. Doesn’t need salt & pepper.
Yummy! I didnt have green pepper so I used some garlic sautéed in vegetable oil. I also added green onions on top and that really enhanced the flavor. Will make again!
I like this recipe for its simplicity. I toss with red pepper instead of green, for a pop of color, and soy sauce to taste.
My family had this for the first time last night and everyone loved it. A new family favorite for broccoli!
I used a small amount of butter and olive oil to toast sesame seeds, then added broccoli trees added ground pepper and rice vinegar. covered. after a few minutes, I sprinkled a couple drops of sesame oil on each broc. tree. outstanding flavor.
I added carrots (cut up matchstick style), strips of onion, and some garlic to the broccoli and bell pepper. This was very simple and was a great side to our chicken yakitori and baked brown rice! This one is going into regular rotation.
I like taste of sesame but this dish was too overpowered by it. Also requires some seasoning. Made again and added a tablespoon of soy sauce. That made it better.
This was great, and did need the tweaks provided by Judy, adding garlic and red pepper instead of green. You can’t go wrong!
Very good way to spice up plain old veggies. My problem (which I always have with broccoli) is the 2 minutes is not long enough to soften the broccoli to tender. I need to either steam it a little before hand or I saw a review that added water and covered it towards the end to reach the desired tenderness so next time I’ll try that
I made this as a side at Christmas. It was a surprise crowd favorite! Substituted a red bell pepper for the green bell pepper for festive coloring, which worked great.
I don’t get it. Since this recipe called for no seasoning, not even salt and pepper, I knew it would need something to liven it up. But even after adding onion, fresh garlic, salt, pepper, soy sauce and a dribble of toasted sesame seed oil, this was still, as my husband aptly described it, “nondescript.”
Great as a side dish. I used yellow pepper and added in a bit of soy sauce for extra flavour.
Quick and easy. I added garlic powder. It was delicious and simple!
Use any color peppers-any works well. Splash of soy if you want. Even it you don’t like broccoli, everyone liked this!
