This is my family’s favorite recipe for the holidays. My kids make me prepare for every holiday!
This was a huge hit at Thanksgiving dinner tonight! I only made one 9×13 dish worth since there would be so much else to eat. With 3 men, 4 women and 2 kids the dish was scraped clean. A second dish would’ve been just fine because we couldn’t get enough. I followed the recipe, but omitted the white sugar because I bought honey corn muffin mix (Jiffy). I also sprinkled parsley on the top before baking for 40 minutes. It came out nice and moist and evenly cooked even having drained the water from the whole kernel corn.
This recipe is THE BOMB. No alterations needed! I will forever make this instead of cornbread; it’s just sweet & rich enough without being too much, and the texture is perfect. I saw other reviewers asking about draining the creamed corn: DON’T. The result in flavor, consistency & texture would be compromised. Made this for Thanksgiving last year and everyone wanted the recipe. Delicious as is!
This ended up being more like the consistency of cornbread.
Excellent taste
I have made this several times and really like it. However the time on how long to bake it is way off. It takes over an hour even with making only a single batch of it.
I have made this at least a half a dozen times. I follow the recipes exactly and it is one of my families holiday meal favorites. It’s super quick and easy and I need to get around to making it more often, my 5 hr old requested it for his “birthday dinner”.
It was absolutely delicious and very enjoyable!!!! Family loved it!!!! I will definitely make it again….
This is really good, much better than the recipes using crackers. I did use about half the butter and no sugar, everyone really liked it that way.
Yummy dish, used less butter then called for.
I really loved this. I didn’t have enough sour cream so I had to substitute some ricotta and it turned out fine. It was actually a perfect replacement for any type of side bread on Thanksgiving. I was thinking it’d be more soupy but it was firm and easily cut into squares. Takes on the taste of whatever mix you use.
Family favorite.
Amazing! Once I finally got people to realize it was NOT cornbread!
Absolutely delicious and so easy to make. Everyone loves this one. It could almost be dessert!
Same recipe my Mom gave me & it gets raves all around. We do add salt when we eat. For my husband who isn’t a fan of traditional cornbread this is a winner!
Such a unique way of making a corn dish. Made this for a family gathering and it was a big hit, everyone loved it. Definitely will be making this side dish again. Highly recommend.
This is one of the best dishes to make. I really like it and have made it many times. The only down side is that baking time is longer than stated. Always check with a clean knife
I modified this recipe. I used three cups fresh sweet corn that I put thru my food processor and added one half cup of Martha White corn meal mix, I also added one half cup of roasted chopped Hatch chili’s . bake as directed. I thought the results were excellent.
Very tasty with no changes to recipe. This was a major improvement over my childhood memories of scalloped corn.
This was great. Are used a can of corn with red and green peppers, drained along with the cans of creamed corn. I melted the butter and left it in the microwave by accident I never added that, and it still turned out moist and buttery flavored.
Took this to the community Christmas dinner. It completely disappeared! It received numerous compliments. Thanks!
