Reviews
Easy and delicious.
I gave it “Liked it” but I did not follow. I skipped the onion soup mix and used oregano and garlic powder after tossing with canola oil. I also cooked @ 325- 350 F for about 90 minutes because I was also cooking some chicken breasts.
Like so many others, DO NOT bake these potatoes any higher than 375 degrees. No reason to. Give them an extra 25 minutes or so and nothing burns such as the onions. I, like another commenter, used a garlic/white wine marinade versus onion soup mix and threw in some baby carrots. Yeah…guess that completely changed the outcome but it was very good.
The recipe is all wrong. The temperature at 450 is way too high. If I try this again I would cook it at 350 for 30 to 40 min. The onion soup mix burned to a crisp and was really not edible. I do not recommend this recipe
Absolutely delicious
quick and easy recipe. I add fresh rosemary from my garden and then with about 10 minutes left, I added some cheese that I had.
I added some sliced yellow onion to the potatoes, I love onions. This was sooo delicious.
Very tasty
The beauty of this website is you can read the recipe as written and then read the reviews and see what worked and what didn’t for different people, This is what I did. I boiled the potatoes first just till I could stick a fork in them, then drained them. Coated them with 1/3 cup of olive oil. Then sprinkled garlic salt, oregano, onion powder, and pepper all over them. Baked them in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes, then turned it down to 350 and baked another 20 minutes. Pulled them out of the oven and cut them in half and covered the tops with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Baked them till the cheese melted. They were really yummy! Yes its a little work, but definitely worth it!
Easy roasted potatoes recipe. I would of given it a 5 but the onion soup mix did burn. I suggest watching it I think the cook time could be lessen as well as the temp. Otherwise tasted great.
I made it for my fussy husband who only likes baked potatoes and garlic mash. Well, he loved these!! So did my daughter, a real hit!!
I found this recipe super easy and a simply delicious way to roast potatoes. It paired perfectly with Cousin David’s Slow Cooker Brisket recipe (also on AllRecipes) which also called for the onion soup mix. I would add a little salt to taste after it cooks (but wanted to see if the soup mix already made it salty, which it did not).
I use dry italian seasonings instead of the onion soup mix and its a hit every time in my house
I quartered the potatoes and tossed with 1/4 C diced onions + 2 minced cloves garlic + salt/pepper + drizzle of olive oil. Roasted at 450 for 35-40 minutes.
My go to for red potatoes. Excellent
So easy and quite delicious. I used a 3 pound bag of red potatoes (quartered), 1 packet of soup mix, some olive oil and a bit of rosemary, shook it up, poured it on the pan, and cooked as directed. Yum
Very easy! Very good!
The family ate it up!
Recipe very good. I added minced garlic and fresh rosemary. Went very well with grilled chicken.
I did make a few changes. I cut my potatoes into smaller pieces and took 20 minutes of the cook time. They were a big hit at the dinner table!
Enjoyed this recipe! Only change would be baking at 350* rather than 450*……tended to burn quickly.
