Mashed potatoes will always make me think of dinner at my grandparents’ house!

Ingredients

  1. 3 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and chopped
  2. ⅓ cup milk
  3. ¼ cup sour cream
  4. salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain.
  2. Mash potatoes with milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper in the large pot.

They was the first time making mashed potatoes from scratch. I also substituted Heavy Whipping for Milk. I heated the heavy whipping cream (HWC) a little so it wasn’t cold on hot potatoes. I used hand mixer to “mash” my potatoes. I used 6 russet potatoes so I added HWC slowly as I mixed the potatoes until desired thickness. I like my mashed potatoes a little thicker. Added salt and pepper to taste
