Loved this recipe. Didnt have the seseme oil but it was this was so good on the BBQ.
followed it exactly and it was wonderful! will definitely be using this recipe again, thank you 🙂
My husband said, ‘this is the only way we make bbq chicken from now on’. I use low sodium soy sauce and that is my only change. It gives a lot of flavor to the chicken and we use it on all cuts, skinless and boneless.
Loved this! Saved our Thanksgiving because we had this grilled chicken which made up for overcooked, dried up turkey breast. Leftovers made some awesome quesadillas with creamy Oaxaca cheese. Son proclaimed them the best quesadillas he had ever had. Next time I make this I might leave out the sesame oil. Thank you for this great recipe!
AWESOME marinade for chicken! Made this last night and the chicken was so tender and tasty
It doesn’t matter what dish I’m making, the chicken always soaks in this marinade first and I get SO many compliments on how my chicken tastes!
This is a great marinade for chicken breasts. So yummy. I love the smell of the sesame oil.
this sauce was delicious as soon as i was done whisking it together. !! i’m a newbie to balsamic vinegar yum. we really enjoyed grilling chicken breast for grill chicken burgers on some hawaiian buns. after the marinating was done i heated up the marinade to a boil and then basted the grilling chicken with it. delicious.
Its my go-to for grilled chicken. People always love this chicken when BBQ’d with this marinade. Love it! Been using this one for years. Nothing to change for me.
I make this frequently. I use Bragg’s Aminos instead of soy sauce.
Made this teriyaki marinade exactly as is. Marinated 3lbs of bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs for a few hours. Pre-baked in oven and finished on the barbeque. Four of us polished all of these off with rice and sauteed veggies. Was a huge hit and will become our standard teriyaki recipe.
THE best marinade ever, just as is! Sometimes I increase garlic or add ginger. I also reduce sesame oil, slightly. I marinade 24 hrs or longer, with great results. But I am sure that a shorter time would be fine too. Sometimes I use boneless/skinless thighs and breasts and shorten cooking time. Everybody in my world loves this recipe! Give it a try!
Loved it used on chicken breasts exactly as listed. Can’t wait to make again.
Delicious. My kids and family enjoyed it. Thanks!
Very tasty chicken! Will use this recipe again , we did dip the chicken in a little barbecue sauce . Wanted to try both with & without ! Oh and was very juicy ,delicious!
This marinade is amazing. And I do 2 different things. I add a splash of mustard. I also cook it to bring it to a boil. That seems to blend everything a little bit better.
I didn’t have enough balsamic vinegar – about 3/4 of the 1/2 cup required – so I added a balsamic vinegar dressing to meet the requirement… I really liked it with chicken legs, which I marinated for like 20 hours straight… My guess is that this marinade would be a killing with chicken wings…. 🙂
Amazing, followed directions x 15 for a event and everyone love the taste and texture. I marinated for 10 hours. Be careful with the flare up as there is a lot of oil….nice a crunchy skin
Awesome stuff I use it for chicken, jerky and pork. It is the best for marinating a turkey breast overnight then on the BBQ. I recommend you marinade your meat longer than just two hours. If you don’t have the time, follow the recipe and then put marinade in pot and bring to boil lower heat and reduce 10 mins. Great glaze.
The predominate flavour I got from this was vinegar. Too strong for my liking. It was still edible, but I won’t be using this recipe again for that reason. I cut the sesame oil in half but that was the only change.
I made it as is and added one pressed garlic clove. Marinated for about 9 hours. Easy and very good.
