Turned out perfect I also added a teaspoon of vanilla

This is just as good as store bought. Even better without the chemicals! I had maple extract on hand. It thickens as it cools.

This was better than the store bought syrup. Will make it from now on instead of buying store bought syrup.

Very good! I only had light brown sugar and butter as a substitute for the maple extract. The sauce is thin but that is actually how I like my syrup. Not too thick. The flavor is 5/5 and I only did half a cup of white sugar.

I used butter extract flavor n the place of maple extract and I vanilla flavor it was incredibly delicious. I’ll never buy syrup again. Thank you so much

I was looking for a recipe that was a simple sweet sauce, not necessarily maple imitation for a base for a spicy/sweet sauce for fried chicken and whatever else. I substituted the white sugar for another cup of brown, chucked in half a cup of raspberries, few drops of raspberry essence and two ghost peppers, let it thicken, cool and blended. Turned out fantastic. The family won’t touch it (because of the heat) which is great…. More for me

Loved it! Made it according to directions, let it cool off & put it in the store syrup bottle, kids never noticed. Have made it 2X already & will keep on making it!!

I’m glad so many people enjoy this recipe, although most have changed it in bizarre ways. The issue I have, is this is the syrup our family always made as a poor family while I was growing up, and it is not very good. Also, not at all like maple syrup! Butter does not make a syrup taste like maple, in case the hundreds that thought that was a great were unaware. Please, don’t post a maple syrup recipe that is nowhere like maple syrup (no more so than corn syrup with imitation maple flavor added to it) without letting people know that is the case.

I made it. I read the reviews of it being too viscous, so I heated it up to the low end of softball stage (230-235) and it became a thick syrup and I think it will also be more shelf stable this way. I made it with 2 c. water, 3.5 c. sugar, 1 TB blackstrap molasses, 1 tsp maple extract, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 tsp ghee. Filled up a mason jar. Tastes yummy, hopefully my family won’t notice it isn’t Log Cabin 🙂

Awesome, so much better than store bought! Thanks

Added unsalted butter for some extra taste of love.

I didn’t have maple, and used vanilla, cinnamon, and butter. Maybe cook a little longer to thicken up, but it’s delicious!
